I’m not suggesting Garrisons 2.0. But perhaps adding a bit more fun things to add to housing. In Skyrim, there are TONS of books to collect in the world, which you can take back to your house and read. Not just a couple of small paragraphed texts.
Some of the books are are loaded. With such a rich trove of lore on Azeroth, I’d love to see something like that. We’re collecting lumber and decor in older zones, why not lore books?
More functionality in your custom kitchen? Heck, I’d even like to see something like a greenhouse that yields various flora you can turn into decor.
Nothing major. What fun utility would you like to see?

The greenhouse would be neat, others are wanting the Halfhill garden, that too could be fun to build/grow new housing decor items or just fun things in general. Maybe it could be something goofy too, like it could grow some kind of Pandarean themed plant “chest” that you can loot for fun things. I’d prefer it to stay away from things like gold and gear, but I dunno.
I’d still love to see the wardrobes be a transmog station and mirrors be a “barber”, but that’s edging close to more garrison things. I suppose it wouldn’t be too bad since you do change your clothes at home (mostly).

I want a sunflower plant that takes me to the old plants vs zombie game. I have not done that in years.

I’d love to be able to grow unique ingredients in your house that you could then use to brew fun concoctions that have fun cosmetic effects.

I’d love to display some of the ornate bows or staves I have acquired in the game over the past 15-20 years. They have the standing and wall display weapon decor, just let me place mine there
Same here, I keep referencing the hunter class hall having weapons on the walls, some fairly rare ones too from my own inventory. I’d say it’s a safe bet it is coming since we have empty weapon racks.

I would be happy if anything we could make or grow, like in a garden would be as simple as being warbound and only useable in our homes. Grow some flowers in the garden, pick them, and then put them anywhere you want in your home, or put them in your warbank so an alt can grab them for the other home. Make some food, or a chair or a frame or a desk or any decor really using specific crafting tables in your home but ONLY for your homes, no way to trade to another player or put on the AH. Then you could at least make some stuff for yourself and use in your homes but not spend all day doing it to make a profit. /shrug
Weapons and armor racks would be very cool
Also I miss some NPCs wandering around, and maybe pets/mounts to make it a bit more alive
We could collect NPCs like in WoD but without the mission table 
I’ve thought about this a lot. What I think about is not an issue, for sure. But I keep remembering my return to my garrison after several years and the shock, neglect and the endless activity that was going on. It is the same with the Tiller’s farm, what was I doing then?
