Some fixes maybe? Stop wasting player's time?

  • Remove Soul Ash from the game. It’s not needed anymore. Buying the base lego and missives should be enough at this point. Cinders can still be a thing past 235.
  • Retroactively halve (or more like 80%) the requirement for research in Korthia. There’s really no value in this long grind other than making players come back daily which doesn’t increase their likelihood to sub again since they are mad they are stuck in a long, boring, pointless grind. For those who grinded out the rares, give them satchels with % mount drops like the reps give.
  • Double the raid drops. I see a lot of people complaining that Mythic+ is unrewarding, but raiding is far less rewarding. In M+ you can at least farm and target gear in a week and upgrade it. In raiding you can go weeks with out getting an upgrade, much less seeing a piece of loot drop for you. This would also help with my next point.
  • DELETE THE GREAT VAULT. Keep valor cap like conq cap, and allow M+ players to upgrade gear based on keys completed during the season. For example, if you do 15s you can upgrade up to 246. 15s are probably on par with heroic mode raid, and IMO much easier than heroic Sylvanas so this is fair. 20+ keys can unlock 252 gear to upgrade from M+. This removes the crappy feeling of getting a bad vault for months and deletes this terrible RNG you’ve dug us into.
  • Allow us to get Soul Cincders from Raid and PvP. Stop forcing us into single combat because you are failures of development.
  • Enable loot protection. If we loot an item from a raid or dungeon, make it much less likely to get it again. If we loot it a 2nd time, make it impossible to get until we get the rest of the loot table. Can’t tell you how many gloves and feet I’ve gotten this tier, but it’s bordering criminal at this point.
  • Once players unlock the 4x boss kill raid quests that unlock portals in the raid, it should also unlock that tier’s entire xmog set like in PvP where you get 1800 and get a mog set. Why are we forced to possibly grind 4-5 months and not finish our mogs? That is literally disrespect to your players who collect.
  • Accept that dom shards is a horrible system and let the casuals and other people get them for free. Then at least make lower ilvl, like 200, dom socket pieces be purchasable in Korthia. This makes it so raid gear isn’t useless, but people who don’t raid can still get them.
  • Make it so one 252 conduit upgrade token, actually upgrades to 252 instead of this long stupid slow grind. It feels like crap and adds no value to the game. (Or just delete conduits because they are stupid?!?!)
  • Make bonuses from your main character’s anima progress, and reps be applied to all alts. We get it, we did the story and the grind. Stop punishing us for playing alts which is one of the only things to do in your horrible expansion. Also, give us 1:1 anima transfers. Stop deleting anima for giving it to our alts. It makes no sense and is another useless road block you put in like the crappy soul ash chests. And for what? to waste our time? Ya’ll see a theme with this feedback? Stop wasting people’s time and they’ll stop unsubbing in droves for that stupid FFXIV game.

We already have to grind a raid for months. Stop trying to drag it out for 6 months because you lack development clarity, creativity, or skill. People would enjoy the game much more if they didn’t feel like it was a big chore and actually had time to do fun casual stuff again.

Anyway, I’m sure I missed stuff in this rant. There’s a lot of really bad punishing systems in this game that you seem hellbent on implementing for the sake of wasting player time. I’m sure it’s a great metric for time played to a point. But I know having an unpopulated game is the worst, so work on not annoying people and just make a good game?

Not disagreeing 'cause skimming over it, really has some logical points.

I do agree even more so on your korthia bit.

Exactly. There is this fear of players not staying subbed.
[MAKE FUN CONTENT]
What we keep getting are minor tweaks/additions to an already existing template that reeks of just lack of creativity.

I guess their too busy making [stop dps bosses]

I also feel the way they did crafted legendaries in Legion was an OK way.
Not sure why they did this weird concoction.

I will agree that some of them were decent enough ideas but others will just never happen.

Yea, sadly. They need to though. There’s only so much grind people can take before they feel burned out and want to quit. The game needs to be more open to player agency, and casual stuff to do. The players should be able to make up somewhat of the content in themselves. That’s why older WoW was so fun.

When you get a lead dev who kinda looks at #'s to dictate what is fun and gives them free reign on a lot of ideas [dependent if the dev is passionate about it (as ion put it or something similar)] - - you get a very disjointed land of busywork but nothing cohesive that adds to the experience.

It’s just [[checks time, sees when so and so spawns, logs in to do dailies, hop around for rares and out you go]].

Designed for a niche group.

But I believe can be so much better but never is. Heck even the Broken Shore back in Legion supposedly had bigger plans where each class hall would have a spot there [[a’la korthia with all the covenants]] and they had bigger plans but ultimately it fizzled out.

It sucks 'cause I have always enjoyed the world that is azeroth, warcraft etc but they seem to be stuck in the past instead of getting a few fresh eyes on this that have experience with outdoor stuff and make something fun.

RPG’s = grind.

If you don’t like the grind, perhaps you should look into a different genre?

First off, you’re literally a non existent player this expansion. You’ve done nothing progression related, and my post is to help people like you get more reward and less ultra time sync into bad systems. I have all 20+ keys in both Tyran and Fort completed, 2100+ in PvP for the mogs, and as a semi-casual PUG I’m 4/10 Mythic raid. I have already completed all of the grinds to unlock my covenant stuff and Korthia. I’m simply saying these grinds are really bad and pointless and driving people away. You have nothing to offer on this topic besides being a troll. I pitty you.

For the rest of the topic:
I think most of the problems with how raiding and progression shakes out is from them balancing the game around the world first raiders. Think about all of the bad systems in place like Mythic raid lockouts, no xrealm raiding. super slow unrewarding grinds. It’s all in the name of trying to slow people down who literally kill the raid bosses in the first couple of weeks anyway. Then these bad systems are still forced on the rest of the player base who doesn’t play WoW as a full time job. It’s ridiculous.

They could also just make the loot instanced to the player so that every player gets the same chance of obtaining the equipment they want, and still even allow trading for it so that if two players got the same item but with different effects, it can be traded base on the stats each player actually needs.

That’s a silly rebuttal.
There are grinds people like, find rewarding.
There are bad grinds that are designed badly.

No one is against grinds in an MMO.

It’s probably a dev on their alt, that’s pretty much the mentality they seem to have.

RPG = a grind disguised as fun.

WOW = a grind with a timegate and no disguise.

There’s a BIG difference.

Surprisingly a lot of people have that mentality. :stuck_out_tongue:
This player base has a weird mix.

TLDR:
Stop trying to stretch 3 months of content into a 7-11 month patch cycle by putting in absurd time gated grinds.

lol yea pretty much, we want to be able to have a finish and then go do other stuff.

What’s stopping you from going and playing or doing something else?

Some insane need to get every ounce of optimization out of the game, so much so you would rather most things not even exist, so you can feel good about not playing a game?

I agree with this rant

The guy who thought these mechanics and systems were fun is the same dev that came up with daze/dismount

Some people enjoy playing the game this way  just because your content with farming rares in korthia for the next year until actual content is put out doesn’t mean everyone else is

Truth. I love feedback posts like this one even if I don’t agree with them (which this one I do nearly 100%. It’s clearly not an I want for reasons ultimatum.

If people don’t want to do that…they can just not do it?

Accomplish whatever goals you set, and then if you don’t want to do anything else take a break.

Simple.

The long tail grinds are more to provide power bumps for players that don’t quite have the skill to do stuff otherwise. Like gear and eventual boss nerfs.
