Somber Dawn spawn time?

What time does this beauty spawn? or is it completely random? I waiting 4 hours yesterday in hopes of getting him but be never spawned, waited 2 more hours today and still nothing. Has anyone managed to get him?

I got him 2 days ago. the area he spawned was packed with hunters. He spawns at random times.

Been camping for about 30 min now. I’ll update if and when it spawns.

Does he do anything special compared to the other red/black unicorns of the same model running around Azuna?

He is actually a different color than those ones in Aszuna, those ones are black/orange. But no, he doesn’t do anything different, he just looks different.

Easy way to tame him is make class trial on low pop realms then when you see him make group for your hunter invite to group and profit I get a lot of my tames this way.

I finally got him!

For all you other Hunters out there wanting him, here is a tip! You don’t need to be in the area to know if he is up or not. Click on your map and go to the Broken Shore map, you should see a green skull on the Island of Deadwood Landing if Somber Dawn is up. When Somber Dawn spawns he lasts about 30 minutes before despawning, you can mouse over the green skull on the map to see how much longer he will stay up.

I thought that Blizz removed the ability to auto-join groups which prevents this technique from working (it used to work like a charm).

They did remove the auto join part yes but if you have the class trial make a group then log your hunter to join said group you would have to relog the trial to accept then back to hunter to join this is the way I have been doing it.

Wow… I didn’t know you could log in and out from character to character to join the group. I thought the jig was up once they stopped auto join.

I kinda feel bad. I literally just flew out there and tamed him after reading this post =/

I got lucky and had her to myself. Was able to tame 3 of her before she despawned.
I wish she dropped a mount as well.
