It was the timing. If SoM never existed and SoM was released in place of Anniversary Fresh, it would have seen more participation.
If Warrior-dorks want to spend 500G on consumes to kill Ragnaros in <20 seconds, Era still exists for that.
SoD is just SoM+ anyway
