Merge all Classic Era current servers to 1 PvE and 1 PvP. Create a new server for CE that is designated as the “fresh” that resets 6 months after Naxx release where you can then transfer off to an existing CE server, similar to SoM. Do this every 18-24 months, minimal effort and easy profit.
There’s a slowed down version. Add experience caps so players can still play with their friends without worrying about getting too far ahead.
Posted in the other thread about this, and I completely agree. This sounds like a lot more fun than what the current iteration of SoM ended up being.
I mean it’s cool that people went full sweaty and hit 60 in a week then rushed full PvP gear, and that is basically what SoM was/is for this first time. But for the next SoM, I do hope they implement major changes and just go all out with it. Troll Paladins? Human Shamans? For SoM 2, why not?
This is a Super Great Idea for players who want to build reputation points with their cities. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to see quests graying out as I outlevel them and only getting 8 reputation points instead of 55+. This would allow me to get to Revered with all the capital cities by about level 45.
on the real i feel bad for you. you are beyond negative on everything on these forums. I feel like your girl left you, your family hates you and you have nothing left but to troll. I truly feel bad for you ands your horrible life
I’m fine with how things currently stand but others would like a chance at things like a working auction house. I’m not being selfish about how that happens. Blizz can leave it be and keep the transfers on (as they are now) or they can do the realignment themselves. It might be better for the lasting health of Era if they just rip off their bandaid then whittle down to two servers (1pve and 1 pvp) and get it over with.
Don’t anyone @ me about names.
Getting a new identity could be fun!
I’d be fine with that.
I’m not a fan of being time gated or kept in a “handicapped” state.
If people want to do things like this, then just go do this now and set these conditions on yourself like the HC community does. Forcing others to abide by these rules will probably drive more away than bring the fresh ideas and new smells that you are looking for.
I apologize to you OP for getting involved in a derailment of your thread/proposal for a future season perhaps? It sounds interesting and certainly something to consider.
I feel, though maybe I am wrong, that most people can pace themselves and not flame out while chewing up content. Reason I’m not sure is that retail has and continues to bleed subs when Blizz tries to put the breaks on. I’m guessing they believe it will keep people coming back for their daily/weekly fix but what many players have seen is their friends list shrink and guild go dormant. I know Classic is not retail but people are people with much the same behaviors.
I’m from Oceania and play East Coast US just fine on 200 m/s.
I do like the idea of a seasonal level-capped server, though. Running DM, WC and SFK over and over for “BIS” sounds pretty cool, and it’ll revitalise low-level BGs.
I actually like this idea, but only if SoM was an 18-month project. I think being 12-months would make it a bit problematic. But, doing a “Phase 0.5” where level caps at 30 for like 2 weeks, then 50 for 2 weeks, then starting a 2-3 month Phase 1 with 60’s unlocked would be ideal imo.
Expanding this to 18 months would also solve some potential problems with crafting cooldowns and the like. It’d be cool if PvP gear was also staggered a bit this way, too, and decay was just halved in general (Rather than gains and decay doubled) - but that would probably require significantly more work
