Are server transfers ever going to work? They’re listed in the paid transfer UI, but trying to move my 60 from Mutanus to a server with actual players (Jom) is not working. Just take my money and stop being so awful, Blizzard. I knew the mega server was the play. I just wanted to be on PST… rip

Unless the transfer is forced no one would ever take it. If you are someone who would transfer from mega server to low pop then consider yourself entirely unique.

He’s suggesting the servers that have even less people then mutanus, transfer there to create more then one healthy server. Which is exactly what blizz should do.
If that is what he meant then it still wouldn’t work. You would need to MERGE the servers with no opt-out. Voluntary transfers would never fix low pop problems, because the players making the decision are the reason its so messed up to begin with.
It’s a much better choice then furthering server disparity with paid transfers. One option is free and gives people the choice to join a server that’s a reasonable pop. One option puts a gun to the remaining players heads as the server dies, and they have to pay for it.

That is probably true, but this is 2021 Actiblizz we’re talking about. If they can’t make $25 per character they’re not going to put forth any effort. I figure our best bet is to buy our way out of this mess.
Paid transfers are an unacceptable option this early into SOM. They created too many servers and they need to fix it.

Remove layers. Bring back queues. Lock character creation on Jom Gabbar. Then allow free transfers off Jom.
This’ll fix the pop imbalance.

I don’t care about free transfers. I am willing to pay. Personally, I think they should open up pay transfers for the next 3 months from any server to any server, keeping pvp / pve restriction in mind. This will give them the money they are wanting. Then after the dust has settled, find the popular servers and do a forced merge to those servers and just close the over abundance of servers. There really only needs to be two. One PVP, one PVE.
