SOM EXP needs MAJOR buffs. like 100% on quest

The only thing it is integral to is Blizz’s bottom line.

This would be fine if these servers were truly only seasonal and everything was deleted at season’s end. However, at least for now, their final destination is Classic Era so no thankyou.

Thanks for letting me know. I forgot there is rested XP. Forget everything I said OP.

I also don’t want to discuss the game anymore because of how enlightened your response is. I think I may just go find other forum posts. Quote a piece of it and start internet fights like the rest of my WoW forum companions!

An exceptionally dumb comment.

What are you saying exactly? My point is that experience is boosted if you wait a week to start. You said this:

So, why is my comment so stupid considering that it basically the same as yours? Or are you saying 100% bonus XP isn’t enough for rested? There’s already the 40% increase to questing XP regardless of timing, plus the bonus XP on top of that for Elite and Dungeon quests. How much more are you saying we need?

What do I win?

I didn’t say your comment is stupid you did.

I can see a benefit of catchup in a shortened season on this experimental mode of Seasons.

A long leveling time is what is used to separate skilled/organized/lots of time to spare players from casual or even experienced, but limited time players.

The longer the leveling time, the further the gap. It is a benefit to have less of a gap. That is all.

I would not know what would be ideal, but I can see the positives.

This part is very true. That’s why we have some of the bonuses, but whether or not they are enough remains to be seen (as you have said). I think it is clear that they are not too much in a 1 year season. Maybe the sweet spot is to have this leveling speed with an 18-month season, but for season 1 it seems we are all guinea pigs in a world run by hamsters.

Personally I think the buff should of started lower and increased as you leveled. 1-30 in Classic barely needs a buff at all. Its 40+ that’s a slog and needed help with pacing in a faster release cadence.

I’m still looking for someone to explain to me why season length should be considered a function of leveling speed. How much of a difference does an extra couple weeks shaved off leveling make to a player that doesn’t play enough to keep up with endgame prep and participation in the first place?

I said the Experience while questing should be boosted to what rest time is right now, permanently. It might need to even be boosted a little further unless they make quest experience 100-140%…

There is a pretty big disparity between hardcore and casual players.

The longer/harder it is to complete a task the bigger the disparity becomes.

Allowing people to get to end game content within a closer time to the hardcore players gives people access to more grouping options for getting attunements and Pre-bis done before experienced players drop out of the pool.

I can see a benefit to speeding up leveling for the above reason, because I believe it would provide a better experience in the end game.

What do you think is going to happen in your scenario when casuals get into group with the hardcore sweaties? They will just end up not being invited to groups and put on individual blacklists for wasting peoples time.

Increasing leveling speed is not going to magically lessen this gap, if anything it will end up increasing harassment and more isolation of casuals when they can’t get into groups.

The casuals will have more opportunities to play with good players. There can be a positive or negative scenario for sure. At least they will have a chance to play with more skilled players and learn.

I keep rereading this and have come to the conclusion that you are both correct and incorrect.

You are correct the gap is not lessened magically, it is mathematically lessened.

Overall your post is pretty negative, so I get it, you don’t want the leveling speed increased.

That’s irrelevant because right now there are groups of 60s killing all 50s and lower in Ungoro and searing gorge. They’re literally camping them so they cannot quest.

Speeding up questing and leveling is 10000% better. At least after turning in the quest that took you 3 hours to do due to trash can pvp 60s killing you then you get tons of exp.

Im 51 lighting lvl 60s up that try to gank me while questing… You know what happens when they get clipped? They call more 60s. Ally is notoriously bad for this behavior.
