What some anecdotal group of players may or may not have expressed a general vague consensus on is irrelevant to a discussion about the magnitude and utility of a hypothetical change to a core game mechanic. Nobody’s talking down to you or trolling you, you’re just proving completely incapable of engaging with a discussion on this subject that’s any more nuanced than, “I want, gimme.”

They’re complaining that leveling is boring and you’re suggestions on how to make it go better are just boring.

The same people replying to you here are negative on every comment on the forums.

fyr and glin both only make negative comments and do it on every forum there is.

First off it was several polls in the beta discord.
It was a collection of posts in the beta forum.

The majority of people playing all expressed the same opinion. You realize we all talked? We grouped leveled ran dungeons? The majority opinion was that it wasn’t just low it was way to low and needed to be doubled.

I am sure there are some players who are against changes and didn’t want the exp boosted at all but the entire design of SoM is to boost EXP. They WILL change it, 100% it gets changed.

What we need to know is how much more they’re going to boost it. 100% is probably the sweet spot with normal experienced placed around rest time. Anything over that will probably be to fast depending on how the raids play out this season.

Season 1 is a test run after all.

have you tried playing more than 15 mins a day?

People will disagree.
That does not make them trolls.

You happen to agree apparently with the OP or you would have called them out for negative posting as well if you are being consistent.

Id be ok with buying a 60.

Yea my grandfather used to walk to school too, I bet you leave your car at home every morning right? I mean that’s a huge slap in the face to all those walkers.

Just because something was a certain way doesn’t mean it should remain.

This is a seasonal server, not a “fresh” classic realm. I’d be okay with them just giving everyone level 60 characters.

Also, depending on what server you’re on, leveling isn’t easy. On Jom Horde are outnumbered 4 to 1 and raids of lvl 60’s are just killing everyone. So all we do now is just dungeons. So we are not benefiting from the increased quest xp.

Don’t put words in my mouth, the sweet spot is clearly subjective and should be based around the largest group of people.
I’m posting on my SOM level 60, your turn.

No, game mechanics shouldn’t be randomly changed to suit the druthers of the largest and most vocal group of forum kvetchers. This is clearly an absurd proposition.

We “beta peeps” tried to get them to boost it a little at a time to find the sweet spot and they said “nah jimmy the intern said 40% was lit”… So here we are.

Everything in an RPG is interlinked and designed to work together. Its not unlike the threads of a blanket. If you change one thing without adjusting other things to compensate you end up with a hole.

Under normal circumstances I am a purist when it comes to games. If I play the classic version of a game I want the classic experience. I argued no changes for TBCC and I will argue no changes for Wrath Classic. I have seen multiple occasions where a small change was made in the hopes for an improvement that had unintended, but negative consequences elsewhere. Just ask the TBCC arena players what I mean.

All that said, SOM is an entirely different animal. There were changes brought in from the beginning to make it a seasonal thing. One of those changes was having the release timing cut in half. It doesn’t take a master strategist to realize that if you have half the amount of time to do everything that you must also reduce the time it takes to do everything.

One of those things is leveling. Under any other circumstances my stance on reducing leveling time would be a hard no. However, with all the other changes to SOM I think its foolish not to reduce leveling time significantly. I would also be on board to increase reputation gains, honor gains, and to increase loot drops.

No, this is stupid. The questing part is enjoyable, therefore it should not be changed at all. People who don’t want to quest in a game where the majority of the regular content IS questing then you’re playing the wrong game.

Kinda makes you realize though that most of these People of Equal Opinion don’t even comprehend that the leveling curve as designed is integral to the overall pacing of challenge and character progression. I guess though that when you spend 100+ hours mindlessly following a leveling guide it’s a part of the game that you just totally miss out on; I too would be going out of my mind if I spent the first several days played of each new character on autopilot.

I can see your point on this.

When I was leveling my warrior, it felt pretty good to me, as I did not feel stuck on a level like with regular leveling speed.

I do see how it would be beneficial in a SOM setting to have a rolling increase to XP gain per week though as these are short seasons.

It’s not as if rested XP was eliminated or something.
