All classic iterations should have rated battlegrounds as well as the regular. Ban the pre-mades from the regular battlegrounds.
Both should have the exact same honor system,
I like the way you think.
What are you, some gosh darned communist?
You’re bothered about the crazy stuff the vast minority that plan on reaching ranks 13 or 14 do for HPH, and I am honestly not. The premade discord I’m in literally states “The purpose of this Discord is to WIN. Games may end up a bit longer, deal with it. If you don’t like 30 minute wins over 15 min losses, this is not the Discord for you.” as its second rule. Lol.
If the sweaties want to reach rank 14, they can try whatever insanity they want to beat the insane system.
Man, even “everyone log in to play at 7 PM” is more effort and planning than any solo queuer ever does.
To be fair that’s the current horde AV premade discord and AV win trading is definitely not happening.
He’s probably talking about WSG and AB which if you consider WSG first cap or AB 3 cap/BS win then fold to be win trading it still could happen. I see a lot more try harding from teams though than when I first ranked my druid in Classic. In Classic we’d have ally townhall and hiding under bridges, then ghosting because they didn’t want to deal with my horde team/any horde premade team. We didn’t throw games like that but they did. That could get AFK suspensions these days especially if a pug is in the mix.
I like premades because I just love doing BGs with a team. This is a common debate though and we are talking about season 2 so if changes happen that’s ok.
By the way, do you use the same name on SoM with a lock?
Yes.
That’s a gray area, but in my Classic premades it happened in like 10% of all premade vs premade games. Generally people think it’s worth it to keep fighting until you’re completely defeated - like a 500 difference in AB or complete middle domination in WSG. At those points the game is already over, you’re speeding up the process rather than giving up.
I never said the players should earn the same amount. They should have the same opportunity.
Sounds fishy to me.
I feel like 70% of the discussions on the internet are Olympic level intentional misinterpretations.
Why would the next season still be “of Mastery”?
You’re not being penalized. You can still queue with your “friends” in the pre-made queue.
None of you are fooling anyone.
It’s no secret that these pre-made groups are gate keeping the ranking brackets. If you literally don’t play how these people tell you to, they will black list you on the server.
On Shadowstrike, alliance. People have been stalked, black listed and harassed for daring to put in more effort than the bracket gate keepers.
These people are even hiring 3rd party services to “bloat” the brackets with low level toons.
Nice, I think I’ve grouped with you before for AV 5 mans on Barman.
For the record, I don’t think that either scenario I described with the first cap or 3 cap/BS push are win trading. Some people have told me they are though when I’ve discussed this in the past on these forums.
The thing is you see pugs doing the same thing where half the team doesn’t try after that aka “Just let them win” so what is it then?
To me win trading is intentionally queuing against each other and then one team throws and then the other team throws. That sort of thing. I’ve never really seen that (not to say it couldn’t happen).
It’s time to let go of the old classic pvp system. It wasn’t a good system to begin with.
People may not like rated bg’s, or arena, but it’s the only right way to handle pvp rewards. That being said the rewards shouldn’t even be power based, but instead entirely cosmetic.
I’m not against changes for SoM season 2, they will just make me decide if I want to play or not. Note that the OP said this:
So that’s what he wants. He doesn’t seem to be interested in the MMO part of MMO RPG. Now there could still be enough people who want to play premade vs premade games but those people may just decide to not play SoM 2.
Bracket stacking is the healthiest and smartest way to rank. It’s the way to get optimal RP where people can rank the fastest. It’s also working together as a team. Anti-social types who are not team players, who shouldn’t be playing an MMO, and who have no desire to understand the ranking system works don’t like it though.
Barman horde had bracket drama and went FFA. FFA is a terrible system that discourages working with other people. I have done it, at the end of Classic I got standing 1 for 4 weeks by outsmarting my opponents and taking the single BR1 spot and getting R14. It wasn’t fun and it wasn’t like playing an MMO at all.
I didn’t like this change on Barman, as before people were working together, so I left the server and rerolled (I got my mini rank goal so I’m good). At the same time a few dozen horde rankers also rerolled or quit the game, and now more horde are quitting because people keep leaving the server and now it’s dying. Gee how smart it was to push away some of the players who would have spent the most hours online World PVPing, farming and running dungeons in the future etc and making the server more alive.
So if you want FFA ranking just reroll on Barman horde and be a lone wolf and get what you want. Just know the chance of even one bracket 1 spot in a few months is unlikely.
That can happen but mostly these days it’s being done by hand with people pool partying and working together. A team effort thing is not bad for an MMO IMO and it helps anyone on the server who wants to rank. With the current changes to ranking, ranking is already “easier” by taking fewer weeks so that argument can’t be really put out anymore. Also without $3 Argentina accounts and deleted characters counting towards the pool (and if you read this and know what I’m talking about I’ll know you actually are aware of things), it’s not like it was sometimes before.
Gee, that’s a lot of rules that you have come up with.
P.S. It’s not anti-social to not want to hang out for 18 hours a day on discord with a bunch of sociopath psychos.
But do please continue to justify telling paying subscribers how to spend their time in game or else be black listed, harassed and stalked.
In the real world we call this the “mafia”.
You don’t need to play SoM, there are other versions of WoW if you don’t like to work with others and be a team player.
I also told you a server you can go to where you won’t be told what to do.
People who player fewer hours would never even be talked to or told what to do by anyone because they don’t get enough honor to be.
Now the gate keepers are telling people where they can or can not play.
Are you even thinking about what you’re typing?
It would just be easier to admit that you don’t want to compete and want to pick and choose who should be the next rank x.
Most pre-made groups aren’t really interested in the “social” aspect. They want efficient HpH, and that’s it. It’s either a PuG stomp or a fast loss sonthey can requeue. They also don’t want to be bothered with having sub-60 toons on their team (for AV.) That’s total crap.
Folks who aren’t interested in actually participating should find something else to do.
