So I made a post earlier in the week about the following issue
I was trying to complete the secret quest line to get the Waist of Time transmog belt with a friend. We got to the part where we needed to talk to an NPC in the “Old” Arathi Highlands zone, so we talked to Zidormi to swap to the older version. The problem that I have is we are phased into different shards, and the one I am in has Zero other NPCS or Mobs. Zidormi is the only NPC in the whole zone.
I can swap back to the new Arathi Highlands and everything is just fine, but I cannot seem to get in to the old version. I’ve tried Deleting my WTF folder, disabling addons, I’ve tried on both PC’s (Fresh install on the second one) I have as well. I’ve died and tried rezzing, queued for BG’s, left, joined, and created parties. I’ve tried swapping to new/old versions of other areas (Which worked just fine) and nothing has helped. Any other ideas on how I could try to fix this would be appreciated, but I’ve run out myself.
I should also mention that I only have this issue on my Shaman. My other alts can see the zone just fine.
Well I finally solved it! After 5 days of trying everything I could I FINALLY discovered why I was having this problem when I went to Azshara to turn in a quest and had the same issue. Hopefully this can help anyone else who may encounter it.
The issue had to do with Twilight Highlands of all things. I faction changed my shaman years ago from Alliance to Horde, but I never did the quest to unlock Twilight Highlands fully again. I had the portal, but it was a phased instance of Twilight highlands. Part of the opening quest for Twilight Highlands involved riding a zeppelin that goes through both Azshara and Arathi highlands. Doing the quest line up that starts in Azshara until the portal is supposed to be created solved my phasing issue, and I am now able to continue on as normal!
I’m making this post so the devs can see what caused the issue, and how it was solved so they might be able to crate a different solution if they can.
