[SOLVED] New UI Question: Are we able to hide action bar slots not in use?

[SOLVED]

“If you click the action bar in edit mode, unchecking the “always show buttons” box fixes my problem.”

Thank you guys!

[SOLVED]

I don’t like posting my support questions on here but I can’t find an answer anywhere sorry guys, this really is last resort.

Does anyone know if we’re able to hide action bar slots that do not have a spell attached to them like we were able to do in the old UI? (without removing the entire action bar)

Having the empty action bar boxes show at all time looks so clunky.

yep, thats the first thing we did, press escape, options, action bars and uncheck the ones you dont want

I still want the action bar, but I don’t want the boxes that don’t have spells assigned to them to show.

I can’t post screenshot so I’ll try to type-describe :joy:

Lets say the following is my action bar;

[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]

If I only have spells assigned to 1 - 4 and 7 - 8, then [5][6] would be invisible. So my action bar would then look like the following;

[1][2][3][4]______[7][8]

Right now the boxes still show despite there being nothing in them.

The old UI had a checkbox to hide action bar boxes not in use; I’m having trouble finding it with the new UI, if it even exists.

then the easier way will be use two bars

one goes for 1-2-3-4 then you position the 2nd bar as 7-8

The problem has been figured out, thank you so much though!

If you click the action bar in edit mode, unchecking the “always show buttons” box fixes my problem.

Appreciate you though that sounded like a clever work around!

You can have the number of slots you want displayed in the configuration of the action bar… but if you mean right click, hide slot 12… no.

this is a good solution

This option does not appear for the customization of (only) Action Bar 1. How do I hide the empty icon boxes on that bar?

Doesn’t seem like you’re able to :smiling_face_with_tear:, assuming you’re talking about the default bar that has the side-art on it.

Classic UI that was the only bar you couldn’t hide the empty boxes on, seems like they carried that same philosophy onto the new UI which is weird considering you can disable the side-art on Action Bar 1.

Thank you, I had the same question.

The main #1 bar does not offer this option. All the other bars do. So lame…bliz forgot folks like this ability to hide empty buttons all all their bars.
