I recently started experiencing an issue when skyriding. While panning my mouse using RMB my fps drops significantly (down to 5 fps in some situations). I’ve attempted several fixes found both in the bug report forums and on reddit (in which they suggested a script command for raw mouse input which did not work). I deleted my wtf, cache, and gpucache folders, disabled all of my addons, turned off background frame limits just in case it had anything to do with that, updated my graphics card drivers, and my mouse software, turned my mouse’s polling rate down to its absolute minimum. I’ve found in trying this that the issue is less pronounced when the game first launches in a day and quickly returns to its frame destroying nature within 15 minutes of play.
Could this be some issue with data being written to the cache? Is there any potential solution? This issue is making flying around extremely irritating and near unplayable in some situations. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: just to clear things up a bit, this ONLY happens while skyriding, and seems to be more pronounced in Azj-Kahet for some reason.
I am also having this issue but it seems to happen no matter what i do flying and going into cities with other players not so bad in instances though. My computer is fairly new and i bought it just to game on but it seems just recently to have terrible fps drops
Interesting, I’m starting to think the issue is game-side only, and partially restricted to Khaz Algar? Going to any of the underground zones seems to exasperate the issue for some reason.
Any chance you got the Beledar’s spawn mount? This just started happening to me today and came here to see if it was happening to anyone else but I did some testing and its only happening when I am using the Beledar’s Spawn mount which I got today. I tried a bunch of other mounts and all of them are fine but as soon as I try using Beledar’s spawn it drops to like 2 fps when turning with the RMB so it might be specific mounts that have the problem?
I actually have been using that mount! I didn’t notice the correlation! Let me double check to see if it happens with my others. Thanks for the tip!
Edit: confirmed, Beledar’s Spawn is the source of the strange fps loss. Thanks so much Tukaman! Hope a dev sees this, I’ll submit a bug report just in case.
I am also dropping frames while skyriding with Beledar’s Spawn and using RMB to turn camera. It was driving me crazy. I restarted my PC, updated drivers, dusted my PC, checked for memory leaks, turned off all addons, closed malwarebytes. Switched to a different mount and the issue got fixed.
