Sure you could force 4 tanks into every raid fight but not that many players want to tank.

random BG is like lfr or rdf in pve, they are trivial content.
Rated BG donât exist.
Even for flag capture or node defender role, a healer would do a much better job than a tank. They are tankier than a tank and can heal others.
Anyway, arena is where the real pvp is, and tanks arenât viable there

And that has nothing to do with the tank shortage in m+ because the respec button exists.
A better solution:
Make tanking more fun and give more classes a solid tanking spec.
I donât hate the idea. There were lots of encounters in older versions of WoW that needed more than two tanks. Sometimes they all had to be all-in on tanking, too, but sometimes it was just extra bodies with a tank spec that never even had to look at the main boss, but instead dealt with powerful adds.
I think this could help ease people into a tanking roll, too, with somewhat lower responsibility and stakes for off-tankers.
I love to tank, but do I want to tank for pug? Nope. But when I do pug, Iâm not gonna tolerate any bs from the DPS, if I donât like certain DPS I will request for them to be removed before the start of a key. Ya, tanks r in demand, not DPS, DPS can be replaced in a snap of a finger.

Not that many people raid⊠Really wouldnât add that many tanks to the pool. Iâve been tanking this season for the first time and I already wanna quit because the mental load is way more than any other role. So many options for paths and if you f up everyone dies. If Iâm a healer/DPS I just kinda turn off my brain and follow along.

Weâve seen 3 and 4 tank bosses before, and it usually just results in a DPS offspeccing for that 1 fight.
If it is 1 out of every 4 to 6 encounters that you need the extra tanks then you run into that. You would need the majority of bosses to need the extra tanks to shift the ratios significantly.

Give tanks a shot at extra gear at the end of every m+ run. Maybe a bag like you get while leveling. You open it, get extra gold, and there is a (%) chance to get an extra item.
Another solution would be a tank specific Vault slot. You do 8 runs in a week as tank, you get an additional row in your vault to pick from.
Honestly Iâd like to see more of this. Including one tank fights as well.
I donât want to incentivize players who donât want to tank to tank for the extra loot. Doing something you donât enjoy in a video game leads to burn out, poor performance, and a bad player experience.
Also then you get tanks gearing faster and moving up in key level faster and then you donât have fewer tanks for lower keys. And then you get a dps/heal shortage at the high end and a tank shortage at the low end.
