Completely remove paid server transfers from classic wow forever and indefinitely. Just have them on a cooldown where you can only transfer once a month or once every 3 months. Monitor the realm populations often and just turn off realms individually from receiving new transfers to them. If a realm dies off, those people can re-home themselves to another medium population server of their choice with all their friends.
Implement this solution and people would leave the mega servers immediately because they know if the destination realm dies they can just transfer all of their characters for free in a few months. They aren’t pay locked on a dead realm.
The reason not enough people are taking the free transfers right now is that there is zero ‘realm death protection’ in place to ensure that they aren’t going to get screwed over in a few months.
We already pay $15 a month for this game, and you’ve already milked all of us for transfer money in the past, isn’t it time you give us a little in return?

We have already seen our old servers die. If there is no protection against this happening again, we will be forced to stay on Benediction and suffer. We need free transfers that include all gold and the ability to transfer guild banks.
We’ve got gold, guild banks, friends on these servers that we do not want to leave behind forever. We’ve invested plenty, time for Blizzard to invest back into its player base.

I think they should go one step far and allow complete travel between all the servers of the same region. there is no reason for players to be locked to a single server for months just because Blizzard say we need to. 1.
Why can’t you temporarily migrate you character to a samll server to play for a while and bring him back to your main server when things are better? Server travel is already a reality in other MMOs, Blizzard is just behind the competion as usual.
Any possible damage for the economy already has been done with the layers and the bots. If they really care about it so much they could just add limitations to what you can do on other servers, like no acess to your bank or raids.

Allowing guild transfers would be massive. I believe the gold restriction is already listed when free transfers are enabled. But it’s the protection we really need. If we aren’t offered some protection than the serious players won’t move. Everyone on these realms like benediction have already been on a dying realm and paid to move, nobody wants to experience it again.
