So, an idea that came to me was that it’d be great if the dungeons were tuned in a way where the bosses didn’t hit so hard that warrior/feral dps player could still tank the content in dps gear. Trash can still stay the same, but the biggest reason why DPS cant tank heroics is because of how hard the bosses hit. I know this goes against TBC classic or w/e, but like u don’t want dual-spec, you don’t want incentives for tanks, or any other changes. this could be a happy medium. Could also add an NPC at the start of dungeon which allows 1 person in ur party to take a “tank” buff so that they can be a pseudo tank for the run.
i’m personally tired of afking in Shattrath for hours a day trying to find a tank/healer to run any heroic. let me know what yall think about some minor tuning.
Or make everything cc’able in dungeons even bosses. With no diminishing returns or target limits. You could theoretically do an entire dungeon by crowd controlling things and kiting them with roots.
I empathize with the problem, but I don’t like this solution. I think it would discourage even more players from speccing as a tank. Why should they, if they’re literally only needed in raids? It would make every tank specialization completely useless in the majority of game content. It would also make dungeons easier.
Why does everyone afk in Shatt while looking for a group? You don’t have to afk… you could go farm the zone your dungeon is in and get some gold/greens/possibly blues/if you extremely lucky purps.
Aside from a select few cases, bosses aren’t the tank killers. It’s the trash that does that. Particularly if you’re short on CC at all. Most bosses aren’t even really a step up from normal. But some of the trash…damn.
Wow, what a great solution lol … The thing is heroic for a reason, if it’s to solve it, why don’t we just go into Heroic and it’s over, you just take the loot and leave? problem solved…
I think the answer might be in what we’ve all always wanted, from the very beginning of playing these fantasy themed games; the Holy Battle Mage class.
A priest, warrior and mage, rolled into one; and maybe some additional talent tree quests to unlock other WoW class abilities. If you like the idea of classic+, you’ll love the HLYBATMAG!
I know what you’re thinking, “TOO OVERPOWERED!”
Let me assuage your concerns. The Holy Battle Mage class will only be available to the neutral Pandaren race. They will spawn in at level 1, with only a loin cloth, an apprentice shirt, a skinning knife, a +3 Blump Family Fishing Pole and they’ll begin by owing 5,000 gold to some shady characters in Booty Bay.
