Shocking. End of season and people are messing around. 
Said like it’s not what happened in the majority of LFR’s from the start of the season. The only real difference is at the start of the season people are more ready to kick the dead weight, and by the end the carriers can just burn through it.

It certainly is in the majority of LFR’s I’ve done. There is always a few people afk/dying at the start/doing below healer damage/not healing. To pretend otherwise is just being disingenuous.

And it’s the absolute opposite for every one myself and friends and people on this forum have been in. We kick AFK people and we wipe and it’s long and arduous at times.
LFR is a raid. No matter how much you want to dismiss it. Period. And I’m done talking in circles with people who want to limit others.
Sounds like you are talking about carry runs for gold. Level of difficulty does matter you have this going on at each level of difficulty.
They’re a separate problem that also needs to be dealt with.
Right Blizzard actually encourages this behavior. Case and point this change to the reward of the Slime Saber.
If it was up to me people who buy carries would be stripped of everything they got. Unfortunately it appears to be too hard to detect/police from Blizzards end.
No, they encourage these sales. I mean even the president of the company was involved in this. This isn’t a tracking issue at all. WoW Tokens are keeping this game afloat.
Thats exactly what their plan is, bait people to resub with cool mount and then use it to generate token sales.
The 5 Bored Heroic Raiders on LFR: A Tank, a healer and the 3 DPS while the rest dies or AFK is all needed to destroy LFR. Many of my LFR runs, half are dead at the start of the fight/afk and the Mythic Raider and the Heroic Raiders who were there to carry are the ones killing the Bosses.
40 AFK’ers? stupid.
We could have had a fun new cosmetic for EVERYONE for the final shadowlands patch but blizzard had to be elitist once again. I wish I could get it after shadowlands at least like glory achievements. It’s sad.

I agree. All this is doing is dividing up the community even more and making more casual players not want to come back to the game. Sucks to feel like just because you aren’t a social butterfly or some uber geek that you aren’t allowed to obtain anything fun or cool in the game.

Can you definitively prove that or are you just anecdotally saying that?
I know plenty of people that got into raiding because they wanted the rewards like achievements, AOTC mounts, or even cool transmogs.
I fully agree that many folks get into raiding for the collecting rewards.
However, people who primarily do LFR generally do it because they just want to queue for the raid. They don’t want to make a group. They don’t want to sign up for a group. They don’t want to have anything to do with a group more than absolutely necessary. They want to click a button and do the raid. The majority are not going to switch to doing normal raids just for this mount.
It is a fallacy to think that people will change their behavior if they only understood how much better it is to do it your way. They will not change to normal raiding if you just dangle enough shiny for them, since players’ reasons for doing LFR in the first place differ from the reasons for doing other raiding difficulties
There will certainly be a few LFR players who want the mount enough to at least attempt higher level raiding, but not allowing the mount to be earned in LFR will not open the floodgates of players eager to join normal or higher groups.
