Solution to PVP Complaints

I’ve been playing WoW for 15 years(earlier MMOs & MUDs & MUSHs before that), young one. So, I have an extensive knowledge of the game.

You act as if this would upset me. I play Classic when I need a break from my other MMOs (the ones that have no PvP, or PvP is largely irrelevant to the general population), so Classic disappearing wouldn’t bother me that much, but it would apparently upset this “large PvP community” which I can only look on as being a bonus.

They should let people transfer, this was a thing in Vanilla.

Not sure it was. I remember transfering just before BC at the end of Vanilla. Not sure we can measure the impacts of those transfers.

If we look at the opened transfers from full realms to new ones it created imbalanced servers.

I don’t think server transfers alone is key.

Remember that hardcore PVPers are a very low fraction of the playerbase. That the “git gud” forums posters are probably not playing the game to a certain extent. That the gankers are just scummy people and that PVPers will use efficient ways to get honor. Not camping lowbies and griefing since it reduce the honor intake.

They won’t, but they got a lot to be sorry about. Phase 2 not really being one of these reasons.

I think Phase 2 as a whole was badly done. Honestly if they released BGs and Honor at the same time we would still get some WPVP while enabling people to level.

In the end it would be more healthy for a server population. Now people that aren’t mainly PVPers will just raid log and won’t even roll an alt on a PVP servers.

By releasing Honor with BG everyone would have been happy.

Blizzard already did that. They had free transfers from most PVP realms.

According to the complainers in this forum, that made the faction imbalance worse – mostly players from the smaller faction transferred.

How does that “solve” the PVP complaints? For weeks I have been reading complaints that say “not enough of the other faction”.

Why? Why do you assume that players would not do world pvp, simply because they also have battlegrounds? I see no reason to believe that, and if that isn’t true your entire argument falls apart.

I don’t think its the PvP server part as they didn’t anticipate being on the extreme underdog part.

:man_shrugging:

That’s Horde, too. The only difference is they chose the more popular & powerful PvP faction to make sure it happened.

You must have misunderstood me.

Having BG and honor would simply create a little more space for people that wants to level and it would give true PVPers a way to farm honor that is constant.

I would still want to roam and attack Astranaar and bring some 60s to defend it. But it would reduce the number of groups doing that.

I doubt people knew what they were getting into.

People are just that stupid.

Opening transfers again isn’t an option at this point for alliance. You’d basically turn multiple PvP servers into PvE by doing so.

There’s no way to really fix it without changing the game outside of punishing the horde with long battleground ques, but I’d wager Blizzard will try to intervene when it eventually gets really bad for the horde on that front.
