Solution to over-populated realms

Hear me out, what if the realm was split into for example Herod 1, Herod 2, Herod 3, etc. At any time you can free character transfer over to any of them, but your name is registered on all of them so you are the only one with the unqiue name. When population dies down, they merge.

I think this will fix queue, so when one has a queue, you can transfer and play on the other so the pop spreads evenly between them. But at the same time knowing your name will always be unique and you can always interact with other players of the Herod realm. Maybe transfering can have a 24 hour cooldown too to prevent any abuse.

What do you guys think?

I think blizzard knows what they are doing more than any of us do

No, i dont think they do. They think they do but they dont. Why will i be waiting in queue for 8 hours trying to play on herod then huh???

If they want to lower the overpopulated realms, just make them have a retail store or something

You think THEY do, but THEY don’t.

Because you chose to stay on a dramatically overpopulated server despite Blizzard telling you it was dramatically overpopulated and opening up other servers to move to.

i think simply splitting it would accomplish the problem of it’s overpopulation, but it think the problem with doing that is that maybe they people simply want to play on this huge realm and they don’t want to take that choice away from them by splitting them up

This isn’t up for debate, not only is your suggestion the dumbest thing I heard today, it proves my point that they know best and we need to just be quiet when it comes to something like this.

Want to argue about what you think version is best for vanilla? Sure. How about if you think tbc would be best or not after, fine your opinion should be heard. How about when it comes to managing populations and making sure servers live as long as possible, yeah it’s time to put your elementary ideas in the trash friend.

Also you’ll be waiting for 8 hours on Herod because people are dumb and too stubborn to move so they can open more servers. (Hint: that’s you)

it is up to debate

No it isn’t lol. This is like trying to debate a brain surgeon whether or not you know more about brains than them. Just shut your mouth and sit down

Tipsoutbaby on you tube has a layering video. Including the REALM 1+2+3 versions, which ESSENTIALLY is a whole SERVER as a layer,

Hey thats a good idea… or you know… that’s what they are already doing with LAYERING.

a few days from launch lets start programming a new plan!

This is not layering. You cannot choose what layer you want to be on and people get switched around IN-GAME. My system, you can only change at the character selection and you choose what layer you want. The layers are servers. With their own AH and whatnot.

The layering they have right now is not going to make the cap size any higher, meaning we will wait in queue for 8 hours. This idea will solve that. It will be permanent until the population dies below a certain amount to where one of the layer will get deleted. Also, its no different than making a new server. Except these new servers wont be dead realms in a few months because merging wouldnt be an issue if you share your name between servers.

Do you have a better idea to prevent queue while still remaining on Herod??
No? So obviously layering is pointless.

“Full” means FULL

yet people dont seem to understand what FULL means and they keep overflowing and making a big spilly mess all over the place.

You want to stay on Herod, that’s on you. Layering was the fix, but even that has its set limits.

hehehehe… c’mon… it says FULL. Get it? Full!

Thats a game breaker too, friend. People gonna hop servers back and forth to make a bunch of gold.

oh! copper ore is going for 10 silver more on layer 3! buy all the layer 1 and 2 and resell it on layer 3

Layering has a purpose for the start to ease the gameplay, but remember its ONLY TEMPORARY. They are removing it completely in phase 2. So Thats why blizzard keeps asking people to move to less populated realms.
