Solution for the PvP situation

Only Hearting, for this comment.

You already know my stance on this :kissing_heart:

Indeed, and you are fairly reasonable

I don’t really have thoughts on this, but I just wanted to say that I quit Classic largely because of the massive amounts of try-hard minmax neets who can afford to spend 16hrs/day with their 39 other friends and spend 100% of that time “conquering” an MMO Adventure, in the same way that one “conquers” a read-through of LoTR - you don’t

Players like this destroyed a great game. Everything is hardcore now. Everyone is maximalized, time-perfect, up-tight - there’s no more room for fun. WSG is “unoptimal” without a premade. Raids are “unoptimal” without the perfect utopia of class balance. Everything must be perfect. everything must be completed as if it were a job and your life depends on it.

This is no longer a video game, it’s some people’s entire lives in and out - and it shows.

No changes to Classic this is how it was. It’s classic not clasic-ish or semi classic.

Not exactly.
I mean, not in any other manner than toss this group of 10/15/40 against that group, i dont think it looks at the groups at all other than are both pots full?
Yes? dump them in the BG

The matching system enforces things like not launching until both teams are full, maintaining level brackets etc… adding on group size to that is hardly a stretch.

yea but that is simple stuff.
I mean it does not do anything thing really match making so to speak.
like assessing a groups gear levels, maybe honor or rank, and trying to match up similar groups.

Not that it ever did of course.
Queue times would probably be terrible though if it did that kind of stuff.

Get rid of PVP. Blizzard is just too bad at balancing it and designing around it. They made a complete mess of PVP in this game.

And this is coming from someone who would love good, challenging, competitive PVP if it could happen.

It never was in vanilla
Not sure really if it ever got terribly good.
This is just how it was.
In vanilla PVP was kind of an after thought in the games design.

Well, not kind of, it was an afterthought plain and simple

I can agree with this. Get rid of BGs. Get rid of PvP Servers, while we’re at, too.

He said while rolling horde and enjoying an aoe stun…

Tell me more about advantages?

This is a retail race, it doesn’t even have an aoe stun.

I rolled orc this time round, I actually wish I went tauren for the stun. It’s what I played in vanilla.

Human have their own advantages. We all have some advantage.

If they got rid of PvP, Classic would have been dead on arrival. Most people playing Classic are here for the PvP, everything else is outdated / overhyped.

These threads are so depressing. No, solo queuers should not have to forego all honor and rep gains…the fact is, it will take solo players much longer to reap any rewards. That difference is more than sufficient. Separate queues for groups and single players would be great. Allowing same-faction matches would also help reduce queue times.

the problem is the people who do premades want easy wins. the people who casually queue want to have fun games. it would make more sense for the people who want to play casually to be able to to have fun. the premaders only want fast HPH. essentially they find another pre-made and afk out instead of playing to see who wins. then pug stomp when it’s against a casual group of people. i’m not entirely sure what’s so fun about pug stomping though. the groups are trying to play two totally different games. it would make sense to give premades their own queues to where they could earn MORE honor and to give everyone else their casual queues. imo anyway.

troll much?

Dek, I agree 100%. I’m fine letting the premaders maximize their HPH, but I don’t think it should have to come at the expense of folks who just want to have fun. This past weekend in AB was great. Most premades were in WSG, so there were a lot of pug v pug nail biters (and the occasional pug v pug stomp every 10 games or so). That’s the BG scene I remember from vanilla, and I know a lot of people raid logging or quitting entirely not because they can’t get past R11 and want easy loot handouts, but because they want to be able to spend an hour having fun.

So, find a way to let the rankers keep their HPH – whether it’s a cap to group queue sizes, a separate premade queue, or even same-faction matches to shorten queues so we pugs can at least get stomped and move on more quickly – without being 100% dependent on steamrolling pugs for high HPH.

it’s a real pity that they want to stomp pugs at all though. doing random bgs is a lot of fun. i hope blizz figures out some way to make everyone happy.
