Solution for long BG times

I picked up classic WoW after 9 years of not playing because I enjoyed the BG’s. With 20 min + queue times as horde, it’s not worth me playing anymore and quite a disappointment after level to 60 for this.

This solution is easy: allow Horde to alliance faction transfers until numbers even out. Although I prefer horde, I dont care what faction I am as long as I can play BG’s with reasonable waits. Im finding myself logging on, seeing queue and turning the game off now.

Here is my 60 if it matters, wrong character

Some alliance on here say that even if faction transfers became a thing, no one would transfer and just expect everyone else to transfer. How wrong are they lol.

The problem with this is of course that it is outside the scope of what would be the vanilla experience. I don’t care for the long queues either but we cannot allow the vanilla experience created by how we play the game impact the vanilla experience created by how the game plays.

There’s the option to re-roll. I’m glad you’re willing to do that. Let’s hope more follow suit so we can get better queue times.

I personally have invested too much and planned to be Horde for too long to re-roll. I enjoy world PvP just as much if not more than BGs. So the long queue times are ok for me. I can world PvP while I’m waiting.

Naw.

Some people have asked about Mercenary Mode, which I believe was added during WoD, so you may not be aware of that. That’s a mode where you can queue as the opposite faction. Of course, each faction having access to the same classes makes that more trivial of a problem to solve than it would be for Classic.

Although of course it takes time to level, if your main reason to play Classic is BGs, then there’s no reason not to level an Alliance. If you are going to be playing Classic for the next couple of years, having a Horde main and Alliance main may make sense.

Due to how big of a change faction changes would be for Classic, and of course the difficulty in Paladin/Shaman changes, personally I suspect this will never be a change available for Classic.

Good luck with your decisions.

EDIT:

What could be a potential “solution” to queue times would be to allow Horde vs Horde. Of course, that is assuming that a lack of queue times is indeed a desirable thing for the majority.

Saying that is just the way it has been is not a legitimate justification to fix something that can make the game much more enjoyable. Being completely real, Blizzard’s goal is not to make this like the original WoW experience more than it is to make money. I’m sure Im not the only one that is going to stop playing if it stays this bad.

Sorry but faction changes wouldn’t really help.

There was a time when people where crying out that server transfers would help with server specific faction imbalances and that didn’t turn out like they thought it would.

What the hell are you taling about? Removing the queue numbers just to appease the whorde playerbase is already considered outside the scope of vanilla experience.

I dont see blizzard implementing q hotfix for phase 2 when most alliancr flight paths were made meat grinders?

Why intefere with pvp right now when nothing was done in phase 2?

No. You’re not. Thanks for helping the queue times.

Guild name <vodkaz> checks out.

You got your bgs early because of it, and this is what has happened.

I didnt ask for BGS early nor was I an advocate of it. If you see my threads u will see i am against releasing phases in a rushed way.

And honestly, after seeing your response, I dont pity the long queue times your faction has to endure 1 bit.

No, we say that not enough to change the queue times would transfer. Because history in retail had shown that to be the case.

We have merc mode and transfers in retail and the queue times are still long for horde because 1. Not enough horde are willing to merc mode, and 2. Not enough transfer to Ally either.

See retail for an example of why that doesn’t actually work.

It works fine. I’m not advocating for it though, I don’t care. I think what we have with regards to balance, and player choice is good.

Define fine. Queue times are still quite significant for horde in retail. We have merc mode. It doesnt work.

What does merc mode have to do with what I’m suggesting?

That’s what merc mode does. It enables horde to choose to fight against other horde.

Not really. I don’t mean along side Alliance. 40 horde vs 40 horde. Faction-specific groups.

EDIT:

There’s a key difference, in that Horde vs Horde would have 0 paladins. Faction transfers, etc. would not have to be considered.

Why even do that? Just ditch factions 100% for bgs. Throw ally and horde mixed on both sides. Then queues are gone, or extremely minimized.
