Soloing the nighthold

is it doable on normal, and what would be best Ilvl?

I ask because I really want that transmog set

I wouldn’t rule it out. But I imagine it wouldn’t be easy at this point. Their standard thing now is that raids from two expansions ago are easily soloable. But there’s always some tough nut who can do what should be near impossible. Will you be that nut??

Probably class specific. I can solo Emerald Nightmare on my boomkin on normal no problem. Nighthold isn’t that much of a step up although some mechanics might wreck you. Go in and find out

like a warlock soloing same xpac raid bosses?

Might have to wait until expansion after next (?). I believe that is when legacy loot would kick in and it’s normally easy to solo at that point.

It is solable, but you need drums for some bosses, something to break botanist roots and some healing against krosus. I am not sure if classes that do not use pets can solo it.

This is the character I used to solo it:

I have an ilevel 370 Mage that I can solo the first few bosses of normal Nighthold with, but after that I can’t do much. Of course, that’s as a Mage with low armor and no healing, so…

When it comes to things like this, I just go and try it. The worst that happens? I get a repair bill and some newly acquired knowledge at the cost of a little time.

But, yeah, since it’s not “legacy content” you don’t get items to drop that much. Kinda sucks. I wish Blizzard would just make it so that if you’re 10 levels above and there are no lower levels with you, it counts it as “legacy” and drops full boss loot. Otherwise, you’re just randomly fishing for a lucky drop.

I have soloed it on this char, retribution paladin. Off the top of my head…

Star augur whatshisname, you have to target the adds quickly.
Krosus is a DPS check, and/or be able to do some self-healing.
Botanist, you have to break the stuns or you’re toast.

All the others were cake.

Now, off to the faire!

With a BM hunter i’ve worked Through most of it. I’ve had issues with Krosus. His fire shooting posse threw me for loop a few times.

Haven’t gone back to try again. Will later, lots of time for balance of power lol. So Its just him, elisande and gul’dan left to beat down.

For the plant loving freak boss go in with a disengage ready to go. Keep it banked up. you do not want to be caught in his traps. It’s just you, him, and lots of pain.

I tried to solo the Tomb of Sargeras and that didn’t go over well for me.

I tried the first boss of ToS, didn’t go well. I lasted a long time but eventually the mechanics do you in. probably super easy for a 2-3 person group though

Set your Voidwalker to passive, have them taunt/attack one while you aggro the other, pull yours away from your Voidwalker’s, then burn yours. That’s how I do it.

Krosus kicked my a ss when I tried it. I’ve gotten a lot stronger since then though, so maybe I could do it easier now.

The question is: Why solo it though?

If you have more people with you you get more drops

um.

Hellfire citadel.

Um what? That was two expansions ago.

First boss fight is rather hard to solo especially for slower classes. Often times people group up for it. You’ll almost always see at least 1(if not more) sign ups for hellfire citadel.

Sure, but it’s difficult because of mechanics. The “it gets easier two expansions later” refers to the scaling of damage. They do adjust some mechanics that are literally impossible to do solo. But not something that’s just difficult.
