Just curious how you shaman mains solo content. I do delves on 11 with ease on hunter / lock / prot warrior. I do big pulls, pew pew, all is dead.
Now if i was to main a shaman, how would i go about soloing stuff like 11 delves, 8 mask runs, etc…
This is not a troll post because i tried doing stuff as enhancement and ele, and i get annihilated outside of stone elemental cd.
For Ele we have to be a little more calculated. Use hex when you can if need be. For bigger pulls you’ve got to root, stun, slow, and knockback mobs for your AOE.
Shaman is all about controlling mobs. More than standing there and taking a beating. Make sure you’re using a shield for solo content. Frost shock talent that slows multiple targets with in range of your primary is another great way to control mobs.
Also preplanning your attacks such as casting Stormkeeper ahead of a pull. I think
Stormbringer hero spec is better for AOE, if you haven’t tried that you may want to.
I only play Ele so I can’t help with Enhance.
My Elemental Shaman does 11 delves pretty easily, even the new overcharged ones. Use your dps CDs liberally, especially on the harder mobs and the final boss. The shaman is heroic raid geared but has been doing the 11s since early in the season.
Imo, solo content is far easier as Enh than Ele. You have all of the same tools but ‘Healing Surge’ is instant and it heals for way more as Enh. Plus, you don’t have to plant and deal with spell kickback when you’re struck by a mob.
Gear helps. A lot. Any group content you can do to get more gear will help with your solo activities later.
It helps to know what your abilities do and have them laid out in a way that you’re hitting the most frequent ones quickly. Everyone hits buttons differently (whether you’re a mouse user or a keyboard user. I’m the latter.), so putting them in a place where your fingers can easily reach them helps your rotation immensely.
If you’re leveling from the ground up, you’ll have some time to learn what abilities do what, but if you’re going to boost, I recommend a rotation helper of some kind, just to give you an idea of what buttons are probably your best option next.
I prefer ConRO, Hero Rotation and MaxDPS, but there are others around. Hekili (sp?) has been around for ages and some people swear by it.
I will often drop my snare/root totem between me and the mobs, not agroing them with it.
Then I will start opening up on the mobs. They run towards me. Get rooted, then snared. Then throw in a stun totem, and thunderstorm them back away when they get close (not pop up)
Snare/root totem and thunderstorm have a fairly low gcd. Its up often.
When things get messy, use Steve. The earth ele.

When I solo I usually have to do enhance as an elementalist build because then I can use most of maelstrom for self heals
Or, just use Brann’s healing potions. They’re enough.
Hunter/lock/prot warrior are among the easiest of any class. I find shaman easier than something like rogue for example.
If you’re looking for very easy shaman clear, go totemic resto. Acid rain does okay dam. Might be slower but definitely easy. I did that until I got some basic gear.
I dunno, I had a way easier time on ele than enhance. Ele is such a mobile caster with decent cc that you can nuke mobs before they ever reach you. I died more as undergeared enhance than ele (with gear both are easy).
Takes a bit more planning as Ele shaman. T11 is totally doable though.

Yeah, I agree, I had a lot easier of a time using Enhancement over Elemental for my Shaman. Still wish my Shaman was far less squishy but able to survive better.
feel the removal of ancestral guidance the hardest on solo content – makes using ascendance in delves feel so bad now cus u cant pull enuff to make it feel like a strong button
I do most of my T11 delves as Resto and Brann tanking. You can run around, face pull entire rooms, drop Surging Totem for Acid Rain dmg and spam CL and top up Brann when needed. Brann has the ability selected where he drops those 4 green bombs you run over for aoe dmg to mobs. I find it quicker with this and mass pulls as Resto then as Ele.
For Visions I do Ele but I do remember Enhance being a ton easier to solo Visions in BFA.
