yeah same here with my dh… around 30% always gets me too. you don’t get the small breathers in between tanks like you do with 2 players in it.
I can solo Mythic there as a Warrior. Did so for a Transmog run. Got just about everything I wanted except the Burning Blade. Hellfire Citadel is a no go for me. I’m not fast enough to deal with the assault.
Unfortunately until they fix it (highly unlikely) that raid will be off-limits for a good minute. Very disappointing. Same seems like it will happen with Legion. I know that whenever it turns into Legacy, mechanics of some will still make it a no-no for solo.

I can solo mythic assault as a feral druid without much difficulty
I think the problem you guys are running into is that you’re being a little too diligent about running the ammo. Just let it pile up early on, that way when you get to the burn phase you have several crates on each side and you can keep the speed boost up continuously.
i soloed it at ilvl 395 on heroic or mythic without any issues as so long as you kill things really quick/ not so quick as some fights you kinda gotta drag it out some so it wont glitch. hard for me to explain but BRF can be soloed on heroic/mythic at ilvl 395-397+ without any issues
Every class could solo Hellfire assault, pre-nerf, without any extra items/buffs except bear-tartar
