Solo tanking level 8 delves

new to tanking on this guy he was 590 less than a week ago and got him to 670+…I know I have no gems/enchants etc and I’m new to tanking on this guy for this expansion…

I’m trying to do my 8 level 8 delves to fell that portion of the vault with hero track gear but I’m having difficulty…my survivability seems weak and my damage seems bad. I thought 670ish would be plenty to deal with level 8 delves but for me clearly it is not…should I just wait till I have better gear to do these or should I change something to help.

thx

You should watch a guide on how to play your class. 670 is more than enough

Just read a guide for your class/spec. 670 tanks should be trouncing T8 delves.

You must be doing something wrong. 670 can clear tier 11 delves as tank.
Check guides, try some other things, go over your skills make sure you’re not missing something important or using something incorrectly or not enough.

I was going to say I’m tanking them at 671 and not experiencing any issues. I just leave the dwarf set as a healer and I pretend there are new people on the run with me even though I’m doing this solo lol. So I always tank in the corners so that he doesn’t pull extra trash and then I just watch my cool downs and rotations. Even with 17 million health as a bear, they can still get a little tricky, but if you know what you’re doing with your class, you should be fine.

On my DH at ilvl 666 I was able to solo 11 delves as havoc… I just set Brann to tank and used one button rotation. Should be even easier as tank but faster as dps. Just make sure you anticipate when Brann is going to die, make sure you’re picking up your healing orbs, and using all your CC and defensives available at appropriate times.

okay I’m dumb…

  1. I didn’t set brann anything
  2. I gemmed and enchanted my gear
  3. made a couple weakauras

huge difference…no problems now ;p

If you’re 670, you should be soloing T11s.
On any role.

Yeah, that’s a run killer.

That’s fair… I’ve actually had issues where Brann resets his config multiple times even after I got it all staged. The clue is when he’s doing like 40k dps and is completely useless lol.

no it didn’t reset this character is pretty new and didn’t do any delves so I just didn’t INITIALLY set him to any role lol…my bad

I’ve got a bear with an ilevel of 674 and I do okay on 8s, and I’m not the greatest of players.

Some suggestions:

Get food and potion buffs, they can help.
Get a few enchants, perhaps on your existing gear for a bit more of an edge.

And be careful on the pulls, the Pactsworn can swarm you and life can get … interesting.
I try to peel a few off so I can thin the crowd.

Depends a lot on Brann’s level. Level him up and put him as DPS.

:maple_leaf::dash::dash:

Brann not being spec’d is massive, psa he resets role on season, make sure to change him on all characters

Don’t feel bad, it happens. :joy:

  1. Do Earthcrawl mines (today)
  2. use the hook to drag barrels to enemies
  3. watch them explode
  4. win

Had that happen last night. Finished an absolute slog of a delve and got a curio upgrade, which revealed upon learning that Brann had completely unspecced himself.

It seems to happen most often after running a delve on a character who has Brann configured differently, then switching to another. In my case last night, I was running on a tank character who was supposed to have Brann set to DPS, after I’d earlier been doing some on a different DPS character with Brann set to Healer.

I used to coat my weapon with Oil of Deep Toxins when I was having problems in T8 Delves and higher. I guess since you have two weapons, you can use deep toxins on one and algari mana oil on the other.

Yeah that makes perfect sense because on my ret pally I run him as tank, on my rdruid I run him as dps

Rule 1: Always be Soul Cleaving.

ETA: I see you got it solved. Have fun!
