I just queued for solo queue and waited 1 hr and 30 mins, and after the queue finally popped (yippee!) the match consisted of 2 mages and 2 hunters for DPS, not a single ret paladin! It was INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I went 4-2, it was fun, I had fun. We all had fun (except the other healer)
yep went from 2381 too 1600 since 10.0.7 dropped literally one shot my hunter closest ive ever been too elite im probably going too leave wow for good the countless hours and fun that it took too get too 2381 has quikly been turned into the biggest frustration ive ever expierenced in my life haha how and why it made it out of PTR ill never know and why it hasnt been fixed withing the first day of official 10.0.7 has me speechless

My favorite is when ret players say something like “ret has been bad forever so it gets to be op” like Shadowlands never happened or something.

They can literally one shot an entire team in one global and still somehow be the victim. Its warlocks that are op, after all. Totally.
That has no bearing on why this patch sucks if you’re a pvper lol rets are the reason.
I don’t know how any ret can defend its current state, it’s fine to call some specs like demo a bit much, but by no means can we not acknowledge the state of our own spec is disgusting
I don’t really think the damage is necessarily the problem entirely, I’d start by looking at JoTP and seeing if the specs that could potentially shut them down even have a chance - JoTP allowing them to beat hardcounters already does a lot of heavy lifting in making the meta stale.
I think they have to start there and slowly adjust until other comps can exist, but what I do know is that the only spec that can actually kill a ret team in a go is another ret paladin, and comps that win by attrition or consistent pressure will never be able to generate it vs ret paladin comps anyways so it kind of ruins the entire meta. Can’t really play CC comps, can’t play based on pressure, can’t play comps that do quick goes, all you can actually do is just play with a ret yourself when it comes to organized 3s and if it’s shuffle they become even more powerful just by the lack of coordination. The spec is god tier in shuffle AND organized games. It’s actually sad
Ret+MS spec X entirely determines the game. The only reason rogues/WWs can’t get included here is because they’re a liability into other rets (and for rogues the ret will just break CC anyways). Just give them a Hunter, a Demo lock, or an arms warrior and it’s just a massive PVE war LOL

I just played a few 3s on my alt with some EU friends on alts (legit fresh chars so just tryna help gear), one of them never has played ret before and nearly every game was with a ret paladin.
It was the lowest quality games I’ve ever played, I can’t even tell the difference between a low MMR game or a higher MMR one LOL
That mirror was the one of the most cooked games I’ve ever played, everyone is just in the middle of the map attacking each other
The worse thing is the higher your MMR goes in 3s the more you’re going to fight ret paladins over everything else. Every single paladin here is ret btw, not a single holy paladin LMAO
It’s also fun getting into a lobby as a rdruid vs shamans, priest and mages. How am I suppose to heal if my HoTs constantly get purged/dispelled/stolen? Keep on complaining about rets when rdruids have to contend with three different classes.
