I’m not asking for “credit” or something like that. I’m saying someone shouldn’t be punished with a 200 MMR tank hit because of something beyond their control when MMR is everything to climbing.
Yeah this is bad. They should just assign cr as if the person that left lost all their matches. So if they leave at say 0-5 and youre 2-3 and your last game was with the leaver, you get 3-3.
Bad internet is effectively a random event when it can occur during gameplay. Thus if you have bad internet and consistent windows/durations of play, you’ll be equally hit with a bad connection while winning or losing.
However for people to regularly show that they disconnect while losing, that means they obviously stand to gain by lenient rules regarding that issues.
It would be better they afk instead of leave and everyone gets their 3-3 or 4-2. If they leave on 0-5 and someone gets a 2-3 when they should be getting a 3-3 sounds terrible.
This isn’t exactly inspiring much confidence. The current situation healers find themselves in is ridiculously stressful with the unchecked levels of burst damage flying around. Having no firm plan or idea how to defuse this matter means we likely won’t see a useful solution anytime soon.
Afking and purposely throwing a match is something acknowledged by blizz since 9.1.5
I understand that.
Look the reason I’m asking is cause I got Spectrum. 99% of the time, my internet is smooth and good. Randomly, the other day, it hit me round 1 of a solo shuffle without warning. That felt bad.
That’s the only reason I was asking. Quite frankly, I hate the game mode anyway, and I don’t much care in either direction. I just don’t like the idea of someone being punished for an event outta their control. Specifically with MMR. The CR loss is whatever, you can get that back.
Excellent changes. Thank you
Can’t argue with that. Better to let a bad person go then punish an innocent.
Also it should be a little insight on the pitiful state of internet in the USA. You have stock traders paying out of pocket to have 1 attosecond quicker connection with the exchange. While regular folk are locked in divvied up monopoly territories that obviously show neighborhood speed reduction when people come home after work.
ya of course but u didnt play the round
u cant seriously believe u deserve a reward for not doing something
it can be a problem on blizzard’s side very often as recent reports show
Amazing changes and I have to say rated solo shuffle is the best thing to happen to WoW. IMO this alone puts retail over Classic. Being able to do rated PvP without the need to find a partner is incredible. This should have been in expansions ago just saying though. But I’m glad it’s here now.
Yeah I hear ya… there is no perfect solution, they are doing their best to mitigate to the majority of issues.
Its so rare comparatively that it just has to be accepted it is gonna happen. You can’t take what happens or might hapen 1% of the time and not add new rules/ratings.
Tough luck I guess. If blizz ease up on punishments for these kinds of leaving then players will exploit that somehow.
Part of me feels like linear just won’t have the weight to deter rage quit behavior.
But ultimately it comes out to what the community feels has been most malicious/damaging to themselves when other people had left.
After match 1? (Start)
After match 3? (Mid)
After match 5? (End)
Exactly what is needed and been asked for, thank you.
It is extremely disappointing to hear this. RSS is why I bought Dragonflight to be honest but it has been almost a month and a half since release with no communication on which direction the team is going for to make queue times shorter and incentivize healers. How is it that you are not ready to share “any” information at all? Why can’t you simply share with us what ideas the team is working on and is in the backlog of possible solutions? At least this would give us an indication that there has been some progress made… Just really disappointing…
First of all, thank you so much for listening to player feedback. This, overall, is one of the most fun times to be PvPing in the history of WoW.
Secondly, regarding
Players who leave excessively will be subject to account review and suspensions, as abandoning matches repeatedly is a violation of the terms of service via exploiting functionality to the detriment of the game environment and the intended player experience.
Please consider making this a retroactive punishment for players who clearly manipulated rating. In the past, there have been actions taken for win trading and boosting against ToS. There are many players who have manipulated this to get rewards they honestly should not have been able to get, and it leaves a sour taste for people who have stayed around and stuck out the 0-6 and 1-5 matches because it’s the sportsmanlike thing to do. Please take action to show that manipulating rating via excessive leaving (eg. if all matches they left are only when they are losing) is not acceptable and will have retroactive consequences.
For just one season, have it to where there is no rating lose for losing. The game is almost 20 years old. It would not hurt anybody to see how things would work out. I hate it went a game takes thing from me. I am ok with no gaining if I lose, but i hate the whole ladder thing.
One can only hope for that but I doubt after all the evidence of unchecked abuses prior.
The deterrent is the MMR loss. Majority of people leave because currently the mmr is unaffected. There will be no incentive to leave a match once this change gets implemented.
