The rating system in solo shuffle is absolute garbage. I’m consistently winning 3-4 rounds and getting no rating on them. My last 3 solo shuffle rounds have been 3 wins, 3 win, 4 wins and no rating gain. Meanwhile, earlier today I lost 2 games and lost 37 rating, then won 5 games and got 5 rating.
No wonder queues are 40 minutes because why would people waste their time with such garbage?
Hello blizzard solo queue is a mess you guys really need to make it where players can’t leave once in the arena like disable the leave party button on the player picture frame or the queue dragon eye option would be alot better ort disable them both
It’s funny you say this. I hit 2.4 on my disc today in SS and have a total of 108 rounds played. I def worked good mmr gains to my favor, but even on 3-3 games I’d usually still go up. I feel like I was being handed rating. Genuinely happy the rewards aren’t anything greater. This has been a cakewalk compared to rated 3s.
The mmr and CR swings can be pretty great if you do well in the lower rated lobbies. But going 3-3 consistantly means you are around your actual rating, in order to go higher you need to be consistent in winning more than you lose.
The goal is to make the game think you should be higher rated by smashing games at your current MMR
Still flawed. When you consistantly go 3-3 the game sets you up with ‘losing games’. As in you actually need to go 4-2 or better like 3 games plus in a row before your mmr increases enough where those 4-2 wins mean anything. Before that point you get like 10 points for 4-2, but if you go 2-4 in the same lobby you lose 40+. With how some rounds get thrown by people not pushing buttons… etc… this gets frustrating fast.
It seems to me that if going 3-3 at your current CR and MMR netted a rating and mmr gain than you would surely go 2-4 on average in higher rated lobbies, bringing you straight back down to where you were.
What you described having to win more than you lose consistently to increase your mmr and actually see rating gains is exactly how it should be.
This makes sense. On Arcane my UI bugged in my first round causing me to eat an 0-6 (I refused to just leave)
I have since had to go 28-14 just to climb back to 1500 MMR. Def a little messy at least at lower ratings. I haven’t climbed past 1800 really on any toons so I don’t know if it’s similar higher up
The system is designed well imo, people just dont understand it and it can be frustrating in isolated situations seeing a 5-1 victory netting you 0 points or something miniscule. The focus of players needs to be on MMR and not rating because rating will eventually reach your MMR, and even if you gained 0 rating for a solid win, your MMR next match will reflect your previous win.
Its also protective in a way, at 2100 i went 1-5 in a pretty bad game, and still gained 4 rating despite getting stomped because my mmr was much higher.
That’s probably with an initial good W/L and multiple times going 5-1/6-0. Some days I’ll go 3-3 and there’s been a few days where I played like trash to go 2-4. I’ve never went 0-6. I think that’s the most important thing. I’ve also never left a game.
I’m still positive 30 games. Most these threads about not gaining rating are from people who are negative or positive by 5 rounds.
As a person who hasn’t done arena seriously ever and is trying to get into solo MMR means nothing to me absolutely nothing. Cause all I see is reach 1800 rating to earn this reward. That reward is based off CR. And I hate winning 5 games going up 5 points then losing 3 and dropping 50. I’ve no idea how any of it works.
