SOLO shuffle has to be the biggest failure to date

Even worse then the unbalance of this game. Why is it I am winning 10 to 20 rating with 5 of 6 games won??

wut?

I don’t really understand the end there… but Solo Shuffle seems to be HUGELY popular based on nothing more than the fact the queues are incredibly long.

What’s the issue? Try and rephrase.

The rating system is weird, if you play a lobby that’s lower than your own rating, you don’t get much for winning and you lose a lot for losing. But the good news is that if you play a lobby that’s higher than your rating, you win a lot for winning and lose only a little or nothing if you lose.

Yes it is very popular.

ohhhh ok. Yeah I have heard that.

And yes-- it’s very VERY popular, and the scoring system sucks.

I mean… LONG TERM … I’d call that a win. You can fix the scoring system.

I would call it a win too, awesome that people can finally play instead of fighting the LFG boss all day.

My last 6 rounds, I was the lowest @ 1300~ and everyone else was 1600 to 1900 and I got 26 rating for 5 of 6 rounds won. Explain that?

I wish I could explain it but the scoring system is so weird. It’s been like that for all of us. Maybe all of their mmrs were like 1300ish from going on a losing streak and so the lobby mmr was somehow lower than yours?

It could get a few tweaks but it’s more or less doing what it needs to.

well, it survived more than one expansion, so it’s already doing better than half the systems added to the game.

I like solo shuffle. As a classic Andy it’s been hard trying to get back into the PvP meta 6 expansions since the last time I broke 2k. Sitting around 1400 solo shuffle rn and tbh I think I prefer when I don’t get healers cus the 2v2 games are a lot more methodical imo.

You’re playing games where your personal rating is higher than the lobby or the MMR. Basically, of those 5-6 games your rating was on average higher than those you were playing against. If you on average beat players that are higher rated than you then your rating will shoot up quick.

Well you know what I am gonna keep afking when I dont get at least 5/6. screw it.

There are plenty of match ups where you can only lose rating and the best possible outcome is no gain.

That’s not how it works.

Queues are incredibly long because hardly anybody is queueing, especially healers who have no reason to play that content.

ehhh… could be argued.

I’d say healers are get in instantly … because A LOT of people are queuing.

If Healers ALSO had to wait… that means no one is queuing. But that’s not what’s happening.

I disagree. From what I see, it is remarkably popular-- just not with healers.

When they queue at all.

But that doesn’t mean a billion DPS aren’t queuing/ that it’s unpopular.

It’s not like healing in PvP has ever been the go-to slot.

It’s trash, I’d rather just stare at the public orders and spam refresh.

They already said they want to look into incentivizing healers to Q into solo shuffle.

I’ll q up as much as they want for a million gold. :dracthyr_tea:

Here. I’ll do my best.

Solo shuffle’s queues are long because it is wildly popular, but at the same time, wildly unpopular. The two roles (healers and dps) are opposed to one another much more viciously than other game modes. The reason for this is because of the ratio of dps to healers per solo shuffle match and what the rarity of healer has done to the queue brackets which has made healers indirectly become abused by the system.

In other words, healers are in such high demand for solo shuffle because being a healer in solo shuffle is absolutely miserable, which results in healers being put in brackets they do not belong in (often 200-300 MMR below their current CR) which then results in the healer being extremely punished because it lost a round or two due to factors outside of their control, such as their dps playing incorrectly, because the game was such low MMR and implies lower skilled players in the first place.

The system abuses healers so thoroughly that healers in most forms of social media are stating they do not wish to participate anymore. What this has also done is it has inadvertently hurt the other brackets too because solo shuffle has wildly siphoned people from 2’s and 3’s, meaning healers who prefer more organized settings are now having a harder time finding queues.

Honestly, solo shuffle has very much so negatively impacted the game, but it’s something I don’t think Blizzard can fix.
