Blizzard, you did a great job making solo shuffle work with the 6 rounds and all combinations of players. Here are the current issues taking what would be an A+ game mode and making it a C.

A majority of games have at least 1 player that is so under geared that the entire match centers around them (killing / healing them) rather than a more authentic 3v3 battle. This could be fixed with scaling or a base ilvl requirement

Tanks should be banned from arena entirely. These matches are a total joke and not fun, and massively disadvantage certain specs that have trouble without a healer

Edit: Also adding that leavers immediately end the match, robbing everybody else of honor and don’t seem to have any significant penalty. Maybe somebody can confirm what happens, if anything
I just played a SS with a 30k hp hunter that was also a tank round. The double wammy. The hunter died twice, and somebody (probably the hunter) ended up leaving. Leaves you wondering what the heck this is. I’ll also add that a dps failed to accept the queue initially, and everybody saw that it was a tank game, so the queue ended up failing multiple times as people bailed out.

People have also realized that there isn’t a real penalty for leaving.
The fruits of a half hour of queues and 3 matches all of which were abandoned after somebody died in the opener.

Should definitely get a FAT deserter debuff. The leaves completely shaft everybody out of honor.
and I mean in the realm of 1 hour or more. Its one thing to leave a BG, but leaving a solo shuffle ends the entire match for 5 other players and should have a harsh penalty. There is no reason not to ride it out, and if you’ve legitimately got to go, then you won’t mind an hour deserter

I’m pretty sure all of these points are moot in DF when rated Solo Queue comes. I don’t think blizz cares about the rest of SL
Undergeared people will lose rating and not be in your group. Tank teams will often lose or have to be competitive vs healer teams

Sure, but we aren’t there yet. and i’d still be fine if rated solo queue had a minimum pvp ilvl to prevent a toxic cesspool surrounding low gear
Thats not how it works. it replaces the healer on each team with a tank, so there are no healers at all. Tanks don’t belong in pvp and have horrible balancing. If blizzard is going to make no effort to properly balance them, then they should be banned. It will just make the game mode more toxic if we’ve got random ranked games with tanks instead of healers.

You can make the post but right now it’s literally just a technical test of soloqueue for rated for DF. They said as much when they released.
With rating none of it will matter. Tank groups will be vs healer groups and the tank group gonna lose. Undergeared people will lose.

I’ve really enjoyed seeing solo shuffle separate players who know that gear gaps are blizzard’s fault squarely(and their easy fix if they just bumped the base ilvl more) from players who firmly believe it’s a personal moral failing to try to play the game with other people if you haven’t done enough homework
Definitely is their fault for letting it be the way that it is. and given the weekly rewards, I don’t fault people for queuing on alts just to snatch them up. Either way blizz could fix that pretty easily.
Not sure what this has to do with the deserter debuff though. I definitely think that people leaving solo queues and ending the match should have a long debuff for doing so.

Tried posting this on reddit worldofpvp and it got deleted, put it in the bug forum it gets ignored. Meanwhile probably more than 50% of my SS’s have a leaver, had it as bad as 4 games in a row. People are abusing this, suffering no penalty or if they aren’t, only a 15 min penalty so who cares anyway. Deserter for SS needs to be made much longer.
At this point I dunno what can even get Blizzard’s attention about it short of the exploit being completely public.

Solo shuffle is like the DMV. Everybody is doing their own thing and the service sucks.

Hopefully tank teams just fight tank teams like it is now if they are not going to ban tanks from arenas.
It would be cool if they made solo shuffle ilvl normalized for the rest of the expansion. Like a practice mode for learning your class/spec and gearing up. One can dream.
