They can play off meta…they don’t have to fight for a team that doesn’t want them…they just queue up… Doesn’t mean they are entitled to do well…
There will always be outliers that do well with less and those that do less with more.

I have played a fair amount of demo, but am playing destro as well. The problem is when playing off meta specs the game tends to not be fun. In destro case you do not damage and just eventually die while being zugged for 6 rounds straight.

It’s not even that destro is that bad, it’s that people flat out don’t play it, period.
There are players on like 7 pages who have under 18 games played lol.
I don’t really know if the game play feels bad or it’s a spec power issue. If it’s spec power then it’s just outshined by Demo and Aff by too much to get any attention.
FoTM and OP might as well just be called popular specs… I think Havoc DH proved that when they hit 'God" tier and now DH’s are everywhere.

I mean ppl just play whatever cheeses hardest
and have been for 18 years.
Even on beta ppl spamming whatever was extremely overtuned and you had some leaving beta shuffles to preserve their W/L

I’d classify non-meta as something that isn’t very strong, but is at least fun. Destro isn’t fun right now. Anything that has to cast that much when melee are this dominant isn’t fun.
You can’t expect people to log in and queue as Destro just to punish themselves. The world doesn’t have that many masochists.

The buffs aren’t enough to get people to play it over demo, and if they buff it anymore people will complain when they get hit with chaos bolts that do damage

This. If they did spec-based rewards for everything I do think it would lead to people playing whatever they wanted. As it is though it’s only for R1 so people are still gonna fotm to get everything else.

It’d be weird to log on and queue three shuffles to reach duelist (1329) on Blood.
Good (better) players would play these specs though and raise the caps t oa degree.
Log on week one, wrap up elite/legend for the season as the crisp rating of 1670 (Brewmaster)

People said they wanted to play their non-meta specs. They aren’t. That’s it that’s all there is. PS, destro certainly isn’t unplayable. It has build options that aren’t that heavy in hardcasting CB that perform adequately though yeah the learning curve may be higher than licking the window, er I mean playing demo.
That’s the point though. Those people don’t really exist. Otherwise we’d see more equity in those specs.
Not spending a half hour in queue just to go 1-5 into havoc/demo/shadow.
