Solo raid practice

I would like to see blizzard add the ability to practice raiding in a simulation to learn the mechanics. I learn through experience. Watching videos and reading about mechanics are less effective. I would love to be able to practice raiding to be better when i raid.

This is what progression guilds are for. You are meant to progress through raids with a guild.

Maybe give you the option in story mode to change it to normal/heroic story mode to see and actually practice doing the raid?

There are 4 levels of difficulty. Start at LFR, then move up the ladder. I can’t think of anything that would be beneficial to practice solo that would actually translate to a group environment. Any positioning or timing based mechanics are going to depend on what the raid leader’s strat is and what the rest of your group is doing.

Story mode should have been for the entire raid, not just the last boss.

Part of the experience is the other players. Npcs always do the right thing.

I agree. I would like to see Story Mode Raids with tiers (like we see inDelves).
With all the bosses, not just the last one.

I would like to see nemesis style fights myself. Have the option for the bosses mechanics to move even faster to practice.

Learn through LFR. It’s not as horrible as some make it out to be.

Speak for yourself the majority of us who do story mode only do it to complete the final chapter of the campaign. That’s what story mode is for.

Story mode is not to sit there and learn how to raid that’s what LFR or normals in a progression guild is for

I think that’s called master debating?

This^^

I’m a part of 2 progression guilds and one is at 5/8H and the other is about to start on Mythic. Atleast from my experience they’re pretty friendly and you can vary what you join by your own skill level/time availability.

Most will be pretty tolerant of learning mechanics as youse are progging, just a matter of making sure your gear stays up and you get practice in your selected role.

Theres story mode raids, thats like the same thing, minus heroic and mythic mechanics which you can look up

Wasn’t there an addon that let you practice slicing phase for Sire Dennathrious? It was like a game within game.

Enjoy the weonders… of Pineapple raiding!
The guy who makes these make a Pineapple game to demonstrate raid mechanics. Contact 'em over at ItchIo and buy some of their games, or try to convince Blizzard to sponsor the guy to keep making these Pineapple raids.

(No idea if the guy is making them anymore though.)

Point is that you practice a raid during raid, and you can do that on Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulty. So… most folks practice stuff on Normal and then head into Heroic to get AOTC, and Mythic raiders view Heroic the same way others view Normal as.

If you want practice tools outside of that, you are going to be looking for stuff like Pineapple Raiding stuff.

This is a pretty solid suggestion.

I think this would help me too. I’d love to go and experience the raid mechanics in a way that I can git gud without dragging the rest of the team down. Without that pressure it would be quite a bit easier to get into a raid and be helpful…

My other option was to go the DBM (or whatever the kids use these days) route and have the add-on tell me what to do. Which I’m not a fan of more flashing things on my screen so… :dracthyr_shrug:

Thank you for all the replies. The reaon I want a solo raid practice is: lfr is horrible if you want to learn and practice mechanics, i want a place to learn the raid where i can make as many mistakes that don’t cause raid wipes. I would like to see a real time interaction that can walk a person through step by step and what to do with each mechanic. I have adhd, with a very hyper brain that has trouble focusing on things in the minute and i get this paralysis in the middle of raid when my brain locks up. I would like it so you can program the simulation to target you for any and all mechanics.
