I’m getting the dust off this toon and was hoping to solo some visions. Is it possible as resto or should I go balance?
I was struggling to get through it on resto (with feral affinity). I wasn’t able to beat Thrall/Alleria on my own, I usually end up just waiting to go with a group. I don’t play balance enough to say you could definitely do it in that spec but it’s worth a shot over resto.
I found the best was feral, although I have not really gone too high with it. My main is more balance but for the first time in like ever I actually LOVE feral. You can bypass so much and I just find the mechanics of feral work better.
I am no pro player though, so I am sure some good balance druids do very well with it.
I run it as a bear 5 masks is still somewhat stressful but usually not a problem

Feral affinity resto is totally doable! I was able to solo 5-mask as resto at 452 I believe, rank 14 cloak, mostly done with the research tree. I used crucible major for the single target boost. Eat the food with the HP regen and be very careful on the pulls, don’t bite off more than you can chew. Like with any vision run, learning the pulls will help greatly. Good luck!

I’ve found them to be quite easy as resto. The Stormwind vison is a bit harder for sure though.
I’ve been wondering if it can be 5-mask cleared as resto. I’ll hopefully get to complete a resto 3-mask clear this week if all goes as planned.
I’m resto main spec, but I have a lot of gear for my other roles. On Stormwind weeks, I go boomkin, but on Orgrimmar weeks I run guardian for 5 mask runs.
If I fail a 5 mask run on Stormwind it’s typically because of positioning -> sanity loss.
If I fail a 5 mask run on Orgrimmar it’s because of damage -> death. As guardian you can pull a lot more and stay alive through it. Ideally, you want a R3 twilight devastation and 3x twisted claws azerite trait. I’m using a rank 1 and it gets me by.
That being said… it’s much easier to do 5 mask runs on my ret paladin (457 ilvl) than it is on my druid (475 ilvl).

I wasn’t quite as on the ball as Cspell here, but I haven’t had much trouble getting 5-mask clears with Resto since I capped my cloak. As with other classes/specs, the thing you need to be most concerned about is getting chain CC-ed to death. Even then, if you’ve pre-HoTed and have Barkskin available, you can survive quite a bit. If you’re already clearing visions on other characters, I suspect you’ll have a pretty easy time with Resto once you get your cloak up.

I can’t speculate on resto honestly, but as a boomy main, it’s absolutely doable. I solo 5 mask clear both org and stormwind regularly. In a 4 mask run I don’t even need to use any orbs at all. My frost dk also can. Twilight dev is a huge help on both but it’s more impactful on my dk. I’ve cleared on the Druid with stars before many times.
If you’re struggling, make sure to give yourself all advantages. Eventually you won’t need them but you can flask, scroll, use the food buff that grants like 2% hp per sec in visions, and the other that gives 100 sanity on a 3min cd (doesn’t overwrite the former buff).
Other tips would be to be wary of the packs that have the mobs that do that touch of the whatever spell that stuns you. There’s frequently 2 of them and it’s easy to get stun locked. Also, gift of the Titans is massively helpful. Try and get a weak aura for its cd and wait to pull mini bosses or tough elites for when it’s likely to proc. This alone saves so much hassle.
Lastly, do the quick check in the beginning to find the bad potion (corner of the street in SW and the house to the left in org). There’s also a weak aura that’ll tell you the corresponding potion effects based on the bad one.

not surprised, most of the time the players who refuse to do anything outside of their heal spec will face challenges and be unable to complete tasks that require them to do anything other than spam heals and stare at their bars. this is why those players usually die the most in raids
My experience has been completely the opposite. Using Resto for solo content has made me much more proficient with all aspects of the spec, and more comfortable switching between healing and DPS. Perhaps more importantly, Resto kitty is just a ton of fun to play. Anyone who dismisses it simply because it’s a healing spec is missing out.

What comp you running? Boomys are in a tough spot aren’t they?
What do you mean comp bud? Usually that means arena comp or something. I run the visions solo.
And what do you mean bad spot? In what. Intent? Boomys are pretty solid everywhere.
I’d be more than happy to answer more in depth, I just don’t know exactly what you’re asking.
Talking about arena
Oh, well I just recently hit 2200 in 2’s. I roll with an hpal buddy of mine. He’s not optimized in the least but we make it work.
As far as 3’s, I haven’t pushed yet. I think I’m around 2k in those but I’ll definitely shoot for higher eventually. I again mostly run with hpals and my preferred teammate is rogue or ele. I also like spriest but those games tend to rely super heavily on the priest. Good priests can really make owlplay shine. Bad ones can totally ruin it.
My 2nd tier would go to dhs, ww, or war.
I’m not super into locks or mages as partners. I don’t like fear DRing with clone and I don’t like mage’s poly always healing when I feel like I should be rotting.
So yeah, rogue/ele are my go to’s. And hpal is my preferred healer. I actually would love sham too, I played that in 2’s to around 2500mmr a few seasons ago but their throughput just isn’t impressive these days.

That’s strong, boomy in 2s seems pretty difficult…I guess rep, then hoj And root on goes during incarn?

Boomy is by no means super great in 2’s. I’ve never fought another one 
My dk is frost in 2’s and just hit 2100 on that too. I guess I’m a masochist haha.
But back to it, he doesn’t run rep all the time. I mean perfect set up, sure, hoj, into rep, into rootbeam, into clone, while I bash the dps and incarn. But, I don’t base my kill windows solely on incarn. I run visions major anyway and proc incarn all the time. Also, those perfect chains rarely happen. You’re lucky to get 2 of those. Good teams won’t let you always chain after that but clone swapping is a good thing. Clone heals, stun dps, smash him, then clone dps when heals is about to come off to postpone healing. When you can’t do that, just ensure both targets are dotted all the time and pool AP to get double star surges for periods of burst. I run decent vers gear (like 19%?) but use pve trinkets (shredder and music box). I’m like 475ilvl and honestly can sit still and out dps just about anyone. You have to be good at pre bearing stuns and even pre frenzy regening against rogues and stuff. The only class I can’t seem beat hardly ever is destro… they’re just ridiculous. I almost feel like it’s a free win against all melee though. Arms can be tough, they do a LOT of dmg and have quite a lot of interrupts and utility.

Vision really helps out with specs like Boomy and Ret doesn’t it? I forget about that. I’m just coming back after a few months off. Honestly, arena is the only reason I play this game. I was asking about soloing visions so I could gear for arena 
people like you are why I just avoid forums, why do you feel the need to put down someone you don’t know? I prefer resto and feral over balance and rarely die in raids but hey, you tried.
