Some classes are way better a them than others.
Tank/healer scaling is completely borked
Mobs hit too hard at 6+
Rewards are bad
Brann levels too slow 15+
Verdict: delves are bad

Brann gained 2 levels when I ran Spiral Weave 8 solo earlier.
19 to 21. I was surprised.
Well everyone agrees the fungal delve needs a huge buff to mob hp/dmg as it is way too easy on any level and way undertuned for the rewards.
it would also be wonderful if i didn’t get a 603ilvl trinket that does less damage then a 400ilvl trinket…
Which one?
it’s called abyssal trap it does 30k dmg each tick for 10 seconds
Did a T6 earthcrawl mines and I kept getting hit for like 30% of my life in a row. Pretty dumb considering my ilvl is 580.
I’m loving how the duplicate loot spam continues into WW. I keep getting capes from the Bountiful Coffers. I don’t need more capes.
I’ve soloed all the way through 11 on WW, but that’s with a Brann leveled to 24 + a lot of CC usage/paralysis before pulls etc. I got chunked earlier by a mob’s melee for 6 million total between two hits. Some of the mobs definitely hit a bit hard and classes that don’t have WW’s utility will 100% be struggling attempting to solo. Did an 11 later in a group and got the immortal achievement and the difference was night and day between how much damage I was taking during the encounters. (Obviously stepping into bad things still oneshots you.)
agree 100 %
Tanks can come faceroll and a mage like myself get 1 shoted by trash
I did a solo tier 4 on my new druid alt and it was a huge slog, took 19 min and enemies just felt like bullet sponges.
Not fun at all. I love roguelite games and I don’t understand why Blizz struggles so much with them.
They are really lazy, out dated content. Did T8 as Rogue 582. I don’t even wanna do anymore, they are just not worth it in terms of video game playing, it’s like playing the first Super Mario game or something, I don’t even know, it’s like playing one of those Batman games on Sega Genesis. Zero mechanics, just hit this thing 1,000,000 times while running around. It’s so bad lol.
“5 Trash mobs, 3 are casting, you are given 1 interrupt. Good luck” Why is this still a thing? I’m so confused on the interrupt design of this game. It doesn’t function, it doesn’t make sense, it’s not fun, it’s bad, I just can’t understand.
I think this is just generally difficult to manage in solo content without having content tailored to specific specs, which is a pretty big ask as far as investment into a system goes.
In groups others can help cover the weaknesses of a spec, but when you’re alone you don’t have that.
I’m not sure how this could be handled without the companion system being tweaked to allow for it to fill in those gaps some specs have, without that spilling over into other specs where doubling down on a strength might help to trivialise things.
This would probably require different Delves for different roles, where DPS/tanks/healers are tested on their relative strengths.
That said, I don’t necessarily think tanks being better at them is too egregious. Tanks have long been better at soloing content, that comes with being on a spec centred around survivability.
I found 6+ Delves fine on my DK, but I haven’t done them on my mage yet, so can’t comment on this.
I do think the higher tier delves should be difficult. A tier 6 delve gives gear that’s roughly equivalent to a M +2 dungeon, according to Wowhead.
And according to Blizzard, M +2 dungeons are roughly equivalent to an M +12/13 in the scaling system of old expansions.
That tends to be relatively challenging content, the solo variant should be challenging too. Though ideally not more challenging.
The rewards don’t seem too bad at all to me, although I would probably like a bit more in the way of collectibles on offer for tiers 9 and above. Though this is season 1 and I presume more will be released with each season, so that’s probably not much of an issue.
I do have concerns when it comes to the gear rewards, as unless Blizzard tune Delves better for groups it’s going to be tough for them to offer good gear through Delves without making them the most efficient path for people interested in running other PvE oriented content.
We know through previous iterations of this sort of system that players do not like feeling like they are forced into doing content they aren’t interested in to progress and I would hate to see Delve rewards nerfed because they’re offering a much easier path to gear than the lower level M+ dungeons, which disincentivizes people to engage with those. That would feel pretty awful for solo players as I think Delves will generally be pretty difficult for a lot of people to run solo at the higher tiers and those people shouldn’t receive lesser rewards just because others choosing to group trivialises the content.
That’s part of the issue with Delves not being solo only, but that can be fixed with balancing which makes it harder for groups - hopefully they can just be set up to scale better based on the number of players.
I don’t think I agree with them locking Brann’s levelling to Bountifuls only, past a certain point.
On the one hand, I understand not wanting Brann to scale too high too quickly as that can make the content less challenging than intended. On the other, I wonder if he couldn’t have just levelled significantly slower from non-bountifuls, with bountiful Delves providing optimal experience for him.
That said, I don’t think he should be levelling super fast, as I don’t think Delves should be reduced to “level Brann and win”.

I think it’s a decent system overall that may need a bit of adjusting along the way, but that’s not entirely unusual.
If you are saying rewards are bad then why should we take you seriously?
That’s just mage.
Mage is squishy if they ever get hit, but have some great tools to not get hit.
Nah just play real class like a warrior
I did T8 earthcrawl 0 deaths. It’s challenging yes, but possible. Just takes some thought and deliberate pulling. Hardest part of it imho is that first room with the zerg fest coming at you.
It is getting easier as I gear up and I also recognize that as a hunter (marks, sentinal) I have it easier than some classes. Pets completely negate some of the boss abilities and feign death makes it easy to reset things if I get into trouble and transfer the mobs to Brann or my pet.
Now that Brann is in the low 20’s and my gear is much better than it was yesterday (got a champion x-bow which helped a lot) the tier 8 delves are going much more smoothly. Once Brann hits the 30s and my gear is averaging 600+ item level, tier 8 should be easy. They have already gone from challenging to fairly straightforward as long as I’m careful not to over-pull and make sure to interrupt and use mitigation/self-heals at the right moments.
I still have 8 keys and I’ve gotten a number of good upgrades plus several that aren’t worth it. I’ve been playing with the abyssal trinket for aoe pulls but yeah, it’s not worth it and I will be switching back to a lower-level trinket until I get something else. I also got rings that aren’t better than my other ones despite the level gain.
After 2 days it feels like fairly decent progress. More than I was expecting. Hunters are always good at soloing things so this experience won’t be true for all classes. But so far I’m really enjoying soloing delves and looking forward to pushing to higher tiers over the next couple of weeks after some vault rewards.
I mean the boss at the end. I just get chunked for all my health without even standing in anything.
Interrupt curse of agony, It is likely what is getting you. If you miss the interrupt use a defensive cooldown. One that helps with magic damage is best if you got one. There is also items you can purchase in the world that reduces damage taken. Believe someone earlier in another thread mentioned an item that reduces shadow damage taken by 25%
