Solo Arenas - Blizz deliberately sets barriers to access

I have been grinding honor in pvp so I can do Solo Arena again because I really enjoyed it in Shadowlands. In Dragonflight, Blizz put it behind the Rated PVP content, and to gain access in Season 2, you need a PVP gear level of 434.

So today I finally used some Conquest points to buy 1 piece of gear thinking I would go upgrade that gear with the honor I had saved. However, the ability to upgrade the gear even just one level is locked behind the need to win a RATED match at the rank of Elite (whatever that means). The Catch-22 is that, I can’t get into any RATED content because I need to have the gear level of 434 – which I can’t get without upgrading the gear. And the crafting reagents can’t be used either – I already looked into crafting higher-end pvp gear – it’s a non-starter. Another inaccessible feature.

Blizz… why do you do this? This isn’t going to keep me playing the game longer or make you more money because you’re specifically inhibiting my ability to enjoy the game. In a similar fashion because I cannot gear fast enough I get slaughtered. When a player is squishy in bgs they also tend to get votekicked. That is very demoralizing for players makes them want to PVP less. Maybe your devs should spend some time playing without god mode and see how toxic it really is out there.

Do you all even think about what you’re doing or do you just think about ways to jerk users around?

PVP item level is unaffected by upgrades in Dragonflight. In season 2 every Conquest item is 450 pvp ilvl no matter if 1/9 or 9/9 upgraded. You can see it in the item’s tooltip. You just need to get more gear if your pvp ilvl is still below 434 for queueing Solo Shuffle.

It takes a few hours of bgs to get a full honor set. That’s all you need to start SS. It’s not fair to the rest of us who lose rating because ppl on our team show up in greens…

When you upgrade PvP gear with honor points in DF, it only improves the PvE ilevel.

In DF, PvP gear with 0 upgrades will scale to the same ilevel as PvP gear with full upgrades in PvP. Conquest gear scales one raid tier higher than honor gear (450 pvp ilevel vs. 437 pvp ilevel).

In RSS, DPS would love it if a DPS showed up in greens. 4 wins (nearly) guaranteed.

You should read the tooltips on the honor gear before you come to the forums and freak out!

You can’t queue up in SS in greens. PvE greens max out ~398 and PvP greens max out at ~424. You need to have 434 minimum to queue for solo shuffle.

I had a monk in mine on Tuesday wearing greens. I even sent em a whisper saying pls don’t do that to your team as nicely as I could.

Musta had high ilvl pve gear and equipped greens for vers or something
