ON a ship while going from Menethil Harbor to Ratchet (or any other path) and released right before the splash screen appeared…how would you run back to your body?
You don’t. Rez at the graveyard and eat the debuff.

Yep. Even if it was possible to run back, in this state the game will probably dump your ghost outside the mine in Westfall anyway.

If this were Everquest you’d be looking at a long night ahead hoping a GM would answer your desperate plea before your corpse and all your stuff rotted. Deaths at the zoneline, on a ship in the Ocean were brutal.
But this is WoW, we have Angels!

pretty sure you can’t do that when you’re dead.
This actually happened to me once, I guess I was standing part way off the ship and I fell off or it bugged out. Ghost fatigue is a real thing.

Yeah you can it has a teleport to graveyard option for the dead.
not the same thing.
if you try to “unstuck” your character while dead, you’ll get a message telling you that you can’t do that while you’re dead.
Well then they can stay in limbo for ever lol.
The two options are use your hearth stone or teleport to graveyard. From the description one can even use the graveyard option while alive and it will kill you before teleporting you to the graveyard.

they can corpse-drag, they can eat the res sickness…

Op,it’s impossible for you retrieve your body rez and take the sickness.
Pretty sure you would just take the boat again. I assume fatigue is the initial issue to access the body?
Yes, they do. BUT you can use this to your advantage. If your corpse is so far out that you can’t reach it in time, just go to the very edge where fatigue starts (as a ghost) and let your ghost “die” from fatigue. It will then place your corpse there where you died, allowing you to get your body back without taking a full rez sickness.
If your corpse ends up unrecoverable, you can go die in fatigue waters again as a ghost, and, while still dead as a ghost, click “Return to Graveyard”, then release spirit and rez on the spot.
Disclaimer: Does not work well in inland areas, and does not work at all in Outland.
Remember when mages would blink through terrain if there was even the smallest pebble in their path?
That was fun seeing all the floating mage bodies.
Oh yeah you can also just die as a ghost. Go out to ocean, as soon as you hit the fatigue line just stop and die. Run back and Rez on the safe side of the fatigue line.
