Softcap be damned! What race can reach the highest amount of crit rating?

Hi. Any theory crafters or knowledgeable stat sleuths about?

I wanted to make a character, just for fun, like the Dagger wielding Single Minded Fury warrior I played in DF!

This time I was wondering what Race would reach the highest possible amount of crit stat, going well beyond the boring softcap. So using flasks and enchants and crit food too.

Could the panda racial make much impact with double crit stat from food?

And I’m unsure how the Human racial works. Is it a just a flat 2% all stats, so if you had 10 crit on Panda, you would have 12 crit on Human. Or is it 2% of the total crit amount? So if a panda had 10000 crit stat, the human would have 10200 crit stat.

I know the Zand loa racial is 4% crit, but that is a proc that only lasts 12 seconds, so that would probably reach the highest amount of crit but I’m more interested in just a flat total.

I’m just after making an all in crit based character for fun. Not even thought about the class/spec yet.

Please share any insights, thanks!

Mechagnome. Legit. combat analysis is one of my favorite things as a racial.

Yeah, that would be best if I was going for main stat! For bigger damage numbers.

But I’m just after getting as much crit as possible.

I’ve logged onto my Panda atm. The best highest secondary stat food
(made sure it was crit) adds 940 crit rating. To get 1% crit at level 80 you need 715 rating. So it adds 1.31% crit on a Panda.

I was just curious about the race first. But you could be right about main stat. I’m not sure, are there any classes/specs with talents that increase Secondary stats or Crit rating based on the amount of main stat? A bit like the warrior class tree talent:

Armored To The Teeth - Gain Strength equal to 5% of your Armor

Doesn’t Demon Hunter have a talent that increases Mastery? There are probably a lot of +crit talents.

Hmm. I have been nerding out on this project all evening! Thanks for the suggestion!

Anyone else got any Critical Strike knowledge?

Idk but my hunter is rocking like 49% unbuffed. When I use my cds and maghar orc racial i get to 80% crit burst windows but like every piece of gear has crit as a stat so i think the racials can help but probably small potatoes in the grand scheme. Plus he is mm so he has to pew pew not dagger it.

Looking at some of the Talent trees, it seems Feral, Havoc DH, Arms warrior and Assassination Rogue are all big on critical strike benefits from talents.

I haven’t sat down and done the math but I would guess if you went as far as possible on any class to push crit gear/chants/consumables you could get something like 25000-30000 total rating after that it is just looking at which specs have the largest talent point that gives flat crit chance.

off the top of my head that would be feral at 6%.

In an attempt to answer your question, I looked at the information you provided.

It would seem that the Sindorei can be all of those classes except Feral - and the Sindorei have a crit bonus as a racial.

However, if you remove Demon Hunters from the equation - Dwarves have that crit bonus.

Feral would be Druid only, which really hamstrings the options.

Hmm, Dwarf racial is just bonus crit damage. Not crit %.

Don’t really care about the biggest damage numbers. Looking to craft the biggest crit %.

Belf and Worgen both have flat 1% crit.

The other poster mentioned Mag’har racial, which I assume adds a fair chunk of crit %, but it is on a long CD and only last a few seconds.

Zandalari Troll have the loa racial - increase Critical Strike by 4% for 12 sec, roughly 1 proc per min. Not that great.

I don’t think human with 2% of all secondary stats is much better for just 1 stat. It’s not a flat 2% it’s a percentage of the secondary stats rating… so 2% of 20000 is just an extra 400 rating, not even half a %

I think, in conclusion, the race, in regard to just getting the highest amount of crit%, doesn’t really make much difference, not like picking Mechagnome or Draenei do for increasing main stat.

Haven’t really had fun playing with secondary stats since Legion.

Big single stat items and no diminishing returns (or maybe they were just lower). You could get to 50% crit chance from gear in the first season if you wanted.

I mean, Humans get more secondary stat per point from their racial. Would that not make them the best option if you’re stacking Crit to the detriment of all else?

Crit Races would just be a static +1% Crit I think.

You’d have to math out how much Crit you’d need to overcome the free 1% but if we’re, say, using 12 pieces of crafted gear with crit on all of them, including the engi bracers that are single stat, all crit gems, probably a crit stat stick trinket or two somewhere, I’d bet Human gets more.

It might depend on the patch though. Like I bet at launch you just wouldn’t be able to get enough of a single stat to beat the 1%. But right now… Maybe? In S3 or S4… almost definitely, right?

Yeah human does become better by season 3. I’ve read this in guides over the years.

Was watching a Pikaboo stream one evening when he was debating to switch to human (season 3 or 4) because he was stacking mastery and they would get lots of stat increase.

I think they only get the bonus from item level though. It doesn’t include enchants, flasks, food and gems. So just from the increased stats as the item level goes up each season!

I think I was seeing 50-60%+ crit on one of my characters during MoP Remix; it was a draenei paladin if I recall correctly, so no racial to boost the crit stat. Not really the normal state of the game, but I definitely wasn’t that far deep into it either; who know how much the mad froggy grinders got in the end. Still, the upcoming Legion Remix is probably the best place to see stupidly high crit rates and stats in general.

It was a weird and silly sort of fun.
