"Soft Hands" and "Crossing Streams" should be removed from the T0T Meta

For [Glory of the Thundering Raider], that is.

Got the Throne of Thunder mount today, but honestly? They took so many tries that I felt “meh” instead of excited whenever I saw the achievement pop up. Both of the sub-achievements are incredibly buggy, and involve too much RNG.

The former I did once, and have not been able to replicate for others, despite having the same process each time. One such bug is the egg entirely disappearing, despite not taking any actions or damage… or the achievement simply not popping up for the other person in the group, despite the egg being intact.

The latter achievement took me months of trying, until a friend came back to solo it for me. Mainly because Durumu’s beams outright kill my FPS, even on Low settings, which in turn makes it nearly impossible to see the white spots on the ground.

I think it would be a good idea to remove them from the meta; keep them in the game so people can earn them, but please remove them from the meta criteria.

They both can be done with just a couple of people unlike other achievements that were removed that required upwards of, and including in some cases, 10 people. There are achievement groups that regularly do even the older raids like Throne of Thunder.

Soft Hands, yes. But it also bugs out quite often.

Crossing Streams was literally impossible for me to do solo, since my FPS dropped down to about 5 FPS. On Low settings. Couldn’t see anything, could barely move.

Can’t afford any PC upgrades, so that’s not in the realm of possibility either. My PC usually handles WoW quite well, but for some reason those beams are gnarly.

Actually it’s impossible, afaik, to do Crossing Streams solo with three people being the lowest I’ve ever done it with.

Nope, I did it solo last week.

It’s not easy, and I gave up on doing it in Heroic mode (because the Ice Walls make it nearly impossible to spot the white flash). You have to adjust for the green beam spawn time a little. But it’s definitely doable.

Still need to do Soft Hands, last run with a buddy was unsuccessful due to not properly understanding how it worked.

My friend did it by himself today.
I slapped the boss and ran into the acidic water, he did the rest.
Took about 6 tries, but he got it… and I am extremely grateful for that.

My God…y’all complain about anything and everything. If you can’t overcome it, you want it removed, if it’s too easy, you’re too bored, if it’s too hard, nerf it.

Make up your mind.

Soft Hands is by far one of the easiest achieves to do.
Roll a demon hunter, go to lower nest (first) before someone face pulls.
Upon pull, start your STOPWATCH, dps the baby birds, use feather at :13 seconds.
Extra action button. Fly up, but not all the way to the nest where the egg spawns, it slows down and falls at a slow pace. Be under the egg and click it, your extra action button will change to the egg. Glide to the nest you were just at. Kill boss.
DONE.

You can even use feather at like 14 or 15, but just make sure you leave enough glide room to land on nest or you can just glide and spin. If Ji’kun is still alive when you lose the egg at the bottom of the room (fell too far), then whoever is dpsing is awful.

A warlock can solo streams with ease. VW pet tanks on passive, all you need to do is watch for a white splash, move to it asap so the beams (all 3 focus on you) collapse on that spot and reveal within seconds. kill 3 crimson fogs, do the maze, rinse repeat.

Learn or go play Hello Kitty. You will hate classic if you can’t manage to get a group to do these achieves. Also, if you hate timewalking, you’ll hate classic.
Us veterans would rather not see you or your kind in classic, god knows you’ll load up forums with the same junk.

Show Me Your Moves; Getting Hot in Here; Holding Hands

^ 3 achieves that were taken out already because of people like you who feel getting a group is too hard. The first 2 requires and thank God still requires a full group to do. SMYM took HOURS to complete for 1 run. I (on my warlocks), have led 19 groups on 10N successfully on that achieve and those are the successful ones. Literally months to complete that achieve all trying to find people who aren’t keyboard turners. Or people who have the reaction time of a turtle.
Since it’s been removed, people are “Don’t need, don’t care, doesn’t reward anything, don’t care to try.”

SMYM carries with it a sense of dignity, pride and respect much like the legendary cloak, ring and other things that have been removed, but NO, you kids want those legendaries returned too.

During classic and TBC, we had Thotbot which wasn’t like wowhead is today.
We needed to DL and install addons manually, keybind manually, macro manually, everything wasn’t done for us. These days, you have the forums, wowhead, Group finder and countless other sites to aid you. Reddit to name another.

I’m running an R7 260x which I bought at start of WoD which was January '14 for me anyway. 5 years ago…which is ancient in pc tech. You can probably get a better one than that for free because someone has already upgraded 3x since that card.

Yep I’ve seen Soft Hands done solo with a pet class, although I haven’t done it with less than three people… one caught the egg and the other two killed the boss but this was back in Legion.

I think the spirit of the glory achievements is to be a bit challenging so I’m not sure there’s merit to removing ones that are actually challenging especially when there are plenty of people willing to help others get them. I think each Glory meta still has at least one achievement that you either need multiple people for or at least need to be really on point to get solo.

While your friend’s help was surely appreciated I’m curious did you try and search out groups that were doing those achievements?

Not really.

The length of time that it takes to form a group is one of the things I never liked about raiding. Counting in there being someone on while I’m playing who wants to do the same Achievements I do and will look at LFG or whatever does not seem very productive. I’m dreading what I’ll have to do to get the last Glory of the Firelands Achieve, needing at least six people who all want to do the Achievement and be prepared for something that is so easy to fail…

I mean there are communities that focus on helping people get achievements, mostly in Discord although there are Blizzard communities. I’ve personally helped with some of them for a couple of years now. I think that would be my suggestion for trying to get your remaining Glory metas done.
