The soft foam sword cannot be created on any of my 15 characters.
Where are you trying to use the sword? You can’t use it in instances and such. It also only work on trivial enemies so they would have to be 11 levels lower than you. Maybe only 10?
I repeat myself: I cannot CREATE the soft foam sword on ANY of my 15 characters.
A minor mob in Darkwood is keeping me from an achievement.
The soft foam sword is a toy, you do not create an item version of it if that’s what you are trying.
You click to use the toy while focused on a trivial level mob while not in an instance.
What is the name of this mob and what level are the characters in question?
And what achievement?
you don’t “create” it.
drag it directly from your toy box to your action bar
Now you have the answer as to why you can’t create it let’s get on to more important questions that have been asked already. What minor mob in Duskwood is blocking your achievement hunting, and for that matter what achievement is it?

there are mobs in many zones which require “weakening”.
without the ability to do the quests, loremaster for the zone can’t be completed
I can’t think of any achievements or quests in Darkwood that needed weakening. That’s the area in Tol Barad that has the spiders
Unless the OP indeed meant Duskwood.
my brain completely skimmed over “Darkwood” because i couldn’t think of a zone with that name.
Duskwood has A Curse We Cannot Lift which requires foam sword

I’m sad that I know that place. Farming the Tol Barad tokens was very mind numbing hah.
I encountered one user there once on the same quest to kill spiders. There was plenty. I was druid in travel form, running up and killing them. In melee range.
They were a mage.
They got mad at me for stealing their kills.
They were ranged. I physically could not steal their kills and I wasn’t even near them anyway haha.
Good times in that little Darkwood.

Alliance, but a gnome.
It was just so amusing to me, cause both of us were one shoting stuff and it’s not like I can run up and kill a mob faster than a ranged can in that instance lol. And I was literally on the other side of the spider forest.
One of the few times I ever saw someone in that zone.
