Seeking all former members of Lava Lash, now is the time to return and foster what community we can in defiance of the neglect towards roleplay servers for Classic WoW and the rise of megaserver culture! If you’re tired of the constant influx of bots, the nameless faces and lack of community, come back to join the final hold outs on a declared dead realm to prove that small communities can thrive in their own setting.
There are many benefits to returning to Lava Lash and playing on a small scale server.
A dedication to friendly culture and collaborative storytelling. When the number of players is limited, respect and cooperation are paramount as your actions will define your role in the available community. Who you are and how you behave matter as you’ll continuously interact with the same people.
As one the few officially RP tagged servers, a high probability exists that those who are able to play on Lava Lash were roleplayers themselves or at least RP-adjacent players who respect the medium… Basically, no trolls!
Bots are never a problem. With the server being locked, and the population small, competition of mobs and resources is a non-issue, and we never have to deal with botted gold or material influx.
In part with the lack of bots, the economy is completely fresh as the server population doesn’t support regular AH usage. You can trade and barter with your fellow players, and the inflation of gold and abundance of regularly overpriced goods will be absent as people work together to get what they need and share what they don’t.
If for whatever reason you end up unsatisfied with the time you spent on Lava Lash, there are free transfers off the realm since it’s closed to regular character creation, so you’re time sunk isn’t lost to the wider world of SoD.
The benefits of Lava Lash being a Season of Discovery server should also entice, as commitment issues have continued to grow as the brand of Classic has expanded.
SoD is still in development. Unlike static era realms where players could attempt the same resurgence and pseudo-fresh vibes, SoD servers like Lava Lash are still getting content updates, balance tweaks, and fresh experiences.
Season of Discovery is perfect for casual experimentation when it comes to your precious free time, as players receive a 150% bonus experience rate buff, as well as 300% quest coin reward increase. It’s alt and time friendly due to the increased leveling speeds and gold gain.
Now, unfortunately with Lava Lash being a locked server, only those who have created characters prior to it’s shuttering are able to join in on the action, but I implore those of you with this ability to return and help create new memories in one of final bastions of Classic RP. We also have a Discord server (discord.gg/Ybc2CUQPJn) for anybody who would be interested in either checking out what’s going on, or being part of the community without being part of the guild in-game.
I liked Lava Lash, but if I went back to it Blizz would probably close the server and force merge it with another. By the way, thread might gain more traction in the SoD forum.
I actually already posted it there a week ago, and just bumped it today. This thread has gotten more traction within hours than that one has had in days, funnily enough. Just casting a wider net, as the people who left the server and have the ability to come back may not be looking for SoD specific info at the moment.
Aaah I still have some characters over there, ditched SoD once they killed the server, between server smoosh, bans stopping progression, and all the meta maurices, SoD was pretty insufferable, maybe I’ll check it out now that the hype has died down.
Good time to start, tbh, even if just for a fun distraction. All the runes are available at level one for 1cp each, and there’s the 150% exp boost if you decide to keep it on. Makes for a enjoyable twist on Classic leveling if you’re coming from Anniversary or HC.
Well, it was officially formed in game last night, and I recruited from there like 20 people, so off that it’s fairly active! Lmao, but to be honest the server population is real low, so it’s tough to say exactly as I’m still new to returning and learning the ecosystem. It will definitely not be like any other server, though, I can confidently say that.
I’ve heard it’s been particularly bad lately, lmao, so come on over. Everyone can invite so feel free to reach out to anybody online.
I don’t know about the character restoration, though. I would assume that it does, as long as the restoration actually works.
I would assume so. When it’s locked you can get to the character screen and access the restoration button? If so, you should be able to restore a character and then make more.
Bumping to get this some visibility again, things have been going within expectations, fairly steady but slow! We have 38 unique players in the guild with a total of 60 characters. Lots of folks remaining level alts and help out lower levels to keep a flow of eligible characters working toward potential end game content. Just had a successful group run UBRS the other night!
It’s definitely not hopping, but we’re making it work and keep pushing forward, so if you have the ability then peek on in and see if the server might be a fun place to play. The more folks we have the more we can do, so while it will never be populated we can still have a solid guild and a strong sense of community.
