SOD - Unable to share Hinterland Incursion quests

Hello,

I can share non-incursion quests, but the button to share the incursion quests is greyed out for all hinterland incursion quests.

Character Yawgamoth-Lone Wolf Alliance

Things I’ve tried:

  1. Turning off all Addons
  2. Restarting the PC
  3. Fresh install wow classic sod (only verion installed)
  4. Clicking on the Deputization item to share it that way (wasn’t necessary in Ashenvalle, but that’s moot because when I do this it says “you can’t do that yet”).
  5. Abandoning all the quests to try to start over.

Hypothesis: I think that the game somehow thinks I did not do the initial Quest: “[52] Recover Incursion Field Report: Hinterlands” , even thought I did. I can’t get that quest, It is not in my quest long, and I can’t get the field report from the dude at the top of the stairs either. However, when I mouse over Field Captain Korlian it says the initial quest in yellow, as if he should have it available/as if it is not complete. Would also perhaps kinda make sense why the message I get when I try to share it is “you can’t do that yet”.

Is the field report supposed to be repeatable?

The default UI doesn’t do that. It only shows if a quest is available now (yellow exclamation point), or if it would be available if you were a higher level (gray exclamation point). The tooltip is most likely Questie or another quest-related addon providing that detail. If the quest isn’t available but the addon says it is, you should report it to the addon’s authors as it wouldn’t be a Blizzard issue.

Some quests simply aren’t sharable. The most common reason (at least until after the first few expansions) is that the quest provides a quest item to use during the quest. I have no idea if that is the case for the quests in question or not as I have given up on SoD, but if not it could just be that Blizzard doesn’t want those quests shared.

This is not the case here.

Part of that is not the case then, but doesn’t mean the other part isn’t true:

Have you also deleted all related items from your inventory? Delete all envelopes etc.

IIRC the field report quest is not available as long as you have unopened envelopes or un-used quest-start items for the incursion. Otherwise it should be repeatable (since it’s designed to give you a way to obtain new quests if the ones you have suck and you have nobody to share others with you)

The deputization will give you an error if you are personally not on that quest or if the target already has the quest, or has a full quest log.
