You can really tell with certain bosses the damage changes in Era.
Broodlord is obviously nerfed in Era.
There’s definitely some whacky stuff going on with some bosses. Majordomo Executus surrendered while two of the adds were still up the other day.
We’ve had strange things happen in AQ40.
Lots of bugs in AQ40. Funny thing is they keep coming back; even the biggest ones don’t stay gone more than a week.
Along with some odd addon breaks even without a weekly restart yesterday it just shows SoD was more of a mistake than a good thing.
We didn’t want this yet we still want a true Classic+ but for god sake on it’s own downloadable client. Not attached and branched with Era client. Too much room for error if some dumbo in the office hits patch but forgets to uncheck Era database.
At this point I think you should revise this wish. After WotLK and SoD it’s clear that any iteration of Classic+ is gonna be a product of the Monkey’s Paw. Better to cut your losses.
I assume by Classic+ you mean essentially Era but with a few universally agreed upon QoL updates and some new spells to fill in blanks (Ice Lance for mages, etc)? Nice and simple and non-controversial? Ain’t happening with modern ActiBlizz. That’s outside their capability. They can not help themselves but to ruin the easiest job in the world.
e.g. Dragonriding. Cool mechanic that was fun widely loved. Perfectly co-existed alongside regular flying. So what do they do? In the name of “making all mounts dragonriding-compatible - something I’d bet real money very few people cared about - in exchange for that stupid 5 second switch time between flight modes.” All they had to do to get some much needed PR? Do nothing. Leave it alone.
That’s been an insidious disease for years now. “Play it YOUR way!” It’s where we got horrible messes like scaling, Chromoie Time, party sync, etc. from.
The classic+ all the youtubers and streamers or the community was mainly talking about had a few strong points… Adding unfinished content that never made it to original vanilla and expand on story quests/side quests. With a world this large at it’s base this’ll add plenty to do.
The quality of life and new spells or dungeons/raids should be after the initial base points were brought out.
We didn’t want the game changed right out of the gate like SoD phase 1 showed us. It was a stale scripted linear experience that basically told us that retail was the way to go and phase 4 is proving that even more with burn levels in MC and weird balance choices.
What people wanted is Classic+ to equal to TBC Azeroth world. Karazhan raid and TBC quests, TBC balance then incorp in later patches mount Hyjal, Twilight highlands. Or Add quel’thalas.
Then we do the balance portions/quality of life, like guild banks updating druid and paladin to the levels of other dps/heal/tank trees so they dont get memed on when a ret wants to join a raid or a boomy wants to do naxx.
At the same time we don’t want anything brand new that feels anything remotely like retail and too stream lined that takes away from the vanilla experience.
Yeah it’s funny how people think classic+ would somehow magically be amazing. No. Classic+ IS SOD. SOD or SODish is what you got / will get.
Classic+ has the benefit of being whatever you want it to be.
I’ve never heard two definitions/descriptions of classic+ that were the same.
