With phase 2 on the horizon, I was hoping we could get an update on the potential to allow server transfers for SoD realms. Currently, we are unable to do so, even if we have toons of the same faction already on a targeted server. Just like in Classic Era, many of my friends were split in the initial server launches. With character creation allowed on the targeted server, it seems like a high potential for Blizzard to enable this feature. I am hoping this can be addressed, at the very least let us know if it is a potential or not so we can plan accordingly. Thank you!

Server transfers are what screwed over classic and resulted in single faction megaservers.
Level cap is 25, just reroll.

I read someone post that the devs said they weren’t going to have transfers for SoD, but I don’t have any actual reference to that nor do I know if it’s true.
Having said that, where would you like to transfer to? How is Lone Wolf Alliance? It looks like the server is full, isn’t it?
With the timeframe if SoD being only one year and no information if itll even go past Classic content, highly doubt theyll ads server transfers. Plus server transfers literally killed 2019 Classic with terrible server balances and mega servers. Its a downvote for me.
At the current rate of content release, I dont see SoD being done in a year
At 2 months per leveling phase, itll be 6 months before we even have the opportunity to hit 60, 6 more months isn’t enough time to progress all the way to nax, plus whatever other content they release for us
What about the option to transfer off of the overpopulated side? I have a 25 Pally stuck on Crusader Strike that i want to move (not delete) so i can roll Horde there.
I dunno what to tell you, that sucks I guess, but if you wanna reroll horde, you’re gonna have to delete. Being able to just transfer willy nilly made classic super scuffed. Keep servers isolated, and maintain faction balance.
Worst case, you can let your sub lapse and sub a different account instead, and roll up a horde character, being double subbed for a month is cheaper than a transfer anyway.
I get the server transfer issues from Era, but that is a non issue considering my friends and I already have characters on Living Flame alliance. The just reroll and relevel was done. The biggest issue is that I have two decked out 25s on a server I won’t ever go back to. If too bad is the answer, so be it. All I’m saying is it would be nice to know if that is the case and that way I can re-level the exact same classes on the new server.
P2 will break the game. It’s all contested zones. Faction balance will spiral out of control once again. Cough up 25
Heavily skewed servers you should be able to xfer on the lower populated side
Ive never seen them say its only one year. If youre going off the road map that is based on 2024 and not SoD.
When you invested into a character “just reroll” doesn’t really work. I understand what you mean, don’t get me wrong. But I also get their point and if given the option I’d transfer to the server with my old Bloodsail HC guild. I’ve rolled an alt over there but it’ll never be my main.

No reason not to have them.
I transferred off of Benediction in WoTLK classic because it was too crowded. Within a month the realm I transferred to died and I wasn’t able to transfer off.
If Blizz offers transfers DO NOT TAKE THEM UNLESS THEY OFFER TO TRANSFER YOU BACK LATER.
Just reroll bro it’s just level 25… but wait right now it’s 40 and next 50? and after that 60… smart suggestion you made. Just reroll and level to max again and get all your BIS all over again bro
Blizzard gave Classic an option to buy a max level boost and even buy a token in the “vanilla” experience lmao but we can’t at LEAST have a server change for SoD which is supposed to be a joke-around kind of experience. We will eventually get it because Blizzard likes money but that’s too much thinking for them right now.
