I keep running into the same issues in Season of Discovery ever since the BWL trial hardmode came out. Everytime I do a hardmode verison of a SoD raid (BWL trials, HM AQ10/AQ10, and now HM Naxx) I ALWAYS lag during the boss fights. Whenever I do the raids on normal, clear trash or do any other content in the world that is normal, I never have that lag issue. I’ve tried turning off many addons and basically turn my game settings down all the way, but I’m not finding the lag to get any better. It’s really messing with my caster rotation on boss fights and handling mechanics and I feel like it’s getting to the point that it’s not fun to play the game anymore.
Have you seen this type of lag situation before in raid boss fight settings and have some places I can further check off to see if something can fix this?
Turning off addons won’t change settings that may be saved on the server. If it’s only happening on one difficulty, that would leave me to believe it is an addon causing this. Probably want to backup your UI, reset CVars, and only reinstall addons updated for the most current patch.
Disabling addons is not a troubleshooting step these days. You would need to perform the other steps I mentioned to find out if it’s an addon causing the problem.

Turns out it was an addon called “Bigwigs” that was causing the lag issues. I had it back since 2019 classic and forgot about it. I thought I tested that addon before when trying to find the issue, but clearly I missed it.
