Send me a face pic to make sure.
It is not anything remotely close to retail.
Player counts next phase should do the trick
You mean people haven’t leveled their alts yet and started raiding on them in light of extremely minor pre-bis to bis power gains and INSANE gold syncs even after the nerf? No one has left, they just aren’t raiding due to the gold required.
highly doubt any significant number is quitting over this… you can respec for 1g…
it’s called a sample size. your group doesn’t need to be in the sample for it to be statistically valid
Good riddance, then.
I really think the lack of alts is having the biggest impact on the Ironforge numbers, and that’s most likely why Blizzard made the 100% xp increase since Blizzard can actually see those numbers.
Back in P1 more than half my guild had alts that they were raiding with regularly, but now there’s only a handful of people that took the time to actually level their alts.
Pugging Gnomer is much worse than BFD too, so that doesn’t help it either. It’s not difficult by any means, but it’s pretty easy to run into healers that don’t know what they’re doing.
And so many disc priests going shadow + the devs neglecting the other healers made that problem even worse.
Do we have any real statistics around # of hours played or # of accounts reporting something within a week? Number of unqiue characters doing gnomer seems like a weak data point given it grows as alts come online
100%.
People have stronger reactions to negatives than positives (ie., people hate nerfs more than they love buffs, so if you buff a class and then nerf them, overall the player will be mad).
It all boils down to “P1 was easier”.
Can’t pug through the new raid with undergeared people week 1? No thanks.
Need to do pvp in a pvp event? No thanks.
Need to collect extra runes on your alts? No. Thanks.
The easier the game, the more popular it is. It was proven once again.
Idk looks like any other game to me. No game ever retains its all time high. That’s what makes it an all time high
I don’t really need numbers to validate what l enjoy doing. If there’s enough stuff on the AH, there are enough people to quest, raid and do dungeons with and enough people to PvP with… what good is the number? It means nothing.
Go to steam charts and pick any game and look at the graphs. They all do the same thing
I think the biggest contributing factor is people leaving.
mostly because a huge population of this games active player base are pvp players (most classic players are) and blizzard GUTTED premades, destroying the pvp community. Then they took it 5 steps farther and made hunters, Shamans, spriests, and boomkins pvp GODS, nothing even comes close. then they refused to fix the problem, buffed these classes further, gave them insane runes, and then buffed them again.
now you have a heavily skewed ranged only meta because outside of shamans and hunters, melee players cant even get to their target without 10 dots, 3 fears, 5 stuns, and a 2.7k mage crit. making melee players just say “lol no thanks, i may as well go play retail, atleast melee classes are up to speed there”
Blizzard has heavily buffed all ranged and hybrid classes to be the gods of SoD, playing SoD pvp is next to impossible unless youre a ranged character, or an enh shaman.
to top it all off, shamans are so insanely overbuffed right now that they can easily destroy any class in the game in seconds, heal up to full, then do it again. making AB/WSG alliance teams walk away from the game.
no, blizzard hides all that data, because the player numbers are just so high it would be embarrassing if they got out, of course the devs don’t take praise very well.
Do you even play SoD? Or are you the boomer that wants fresh classic servers every time you hit your skill or personality cap?
I’m going to play a warrior for the 38th time and this time if I RMT enough I’ll be top the of the DPS meter… after that my wife and children will love me.
Exactly why they included such a massive xp boost 3 weeks (yes 3) into the phase. They need hyper players to use 6 characters each to artificially boost the reported logs.
It’s a fun experiment but I’d really just prefer classic fresh at this point. I preferred the gameplay and really expected any classic+ to just be more dungeons and raids with the same playstyle.
Same, with the way SOD is going Ill prob play Cata. Its the only xpac I missed, so itll be novel to play my rogue there and complete the full WoW storyline to date.
I wonder if some of the hate was the absolute status of WoW at the time, esp coming off WotLK. Now knowing the other options may make Cata look better?
Still just 1.12 fresh waiting room
A warrior preferring a game mode where it’s just warriors and then everyone else supporting warriors is kind of a no really.
Guessing the people who like SoD were all the specs that were “totally fine” in classic, but obviously weren’t. Finally they get to play a version of classic where they can compete.
Like I’m sure you unironically think hybrid tax is a good design philosophy.
I’m extremely tired of community gaslighting like warrior is the most fun and easiest class to play in Classic Vanilla. 99% of your time playing is literal torture with few peaks, meanwhile Paladins, Priests, Shamans, Mages, and Warlocks are literal demons in PvP. Your class being borderline unplayable unless you have a healer in your pocket is not the dream you think it is.
There are dozens of different versions of the game for you to play if you don’t like that gameplay, including TBC and Wrath that just released. The last time Warrior was as “dominant” as you pearl clutchers would believe was 5 years ago.
