Hello. The original design of all of the precious metal ores (silver, gold, truesilver) were set at 5 skill levels above each tradeskill rank, I guess to remind people to buy the next rank.
This becomes an issue in season of discovery because we are hard locked into 150, and in the next phase, 225.
When a normal tin node procs into silver, this is not an issue because it can be mined, and the nodes can continue spawning.
However, at an iron node, if it procs into gold, it will stay there indefinitely. In fact when enough iron nodes turn into gold, the quota of active nodes will be met and no more will spawn. I have seen this happen in multiple layers, and the only way out is to wait for a server reset.
This is an oversight and I think there’s an easy fix. For season of discovery, all of the precious metal mining requirements should be reduced by 5. That way there is no interference with node spawns and we can continue to farm.
This will also be an issue next phase, as truesilver requires 230 mining.

This is a funny oversight I’ll be honest.

Next phase the +5 mining enchant becomes available, but it does require 3 truesilver bars

This expains why i have come across so many gold nodes in Duskwoods.

This has been really annoying, so many gold veins where I mine, and barely anything else spawning because of them.
Blizzard please either disable gold veins if possible, or at least give us the +5 mining enchant early so we can get rid of them.

Yeah, this super needs to be addressed.
Same. I didn’t even know this was a mechanic.

They’re like every other node and despawn after a while.
No reset required.
So THAT is what is going on! I swear I was running around looking for Iron and keep finding Gold and other stuff of all things. I thought maybeI was super unlucky or something.

Just add a new + enchant via the waylaid supplies vendor. Ez pz.

scarcity is a feature not an oversight
Interesting. I thought there was a hard cap limit on the number of nodes that could spawn that way, but I guess not if the majority of Iron nodes in a zone are becoming Gold.
Well, define “a while”.
