On season of discovery the Black Dragonscale 4 piece set does not work with the epic boots ‘Black Dragonscale Boots’. The boots say they are it’s own set even though it is part of the blue set, i believe it’s because you changed the name to hardened in the blue pieces but not the epic piece.
You will need the Hardened Blackdragonscale Boots in order to get the set bonus.
The Hardened Set and the Original Set do not interact with each other because the set bonuses from Era do not increase spell chance to hit or crit (just melee).
So you need Thorium Brotherhood rep to Honored, 15 firelands embers, the black dragonscale boots, and 1 lava core - and to go to the Grim Guzzler and trade them in for the Hardened version at Lokhtos Darkbargariner.

Dumb question but will the black dragon scale boots need to be un-soulbound? I might have made a horrible mistake…
