SOD is so BAD

So, you hate vanilla wow, and you came to a slightly changed version of vanilla wow, and are surprised you don’t like it?

I don’t hate Vanilla WoW.

Nice straw man bro.

I happen to think he worded that greatly

For once you could post something on the forums with some substance instead of posting a strawman response to someone’s post, or vehemently defending against someone’s well written criticism of sod. I happen to agree with him, as someone who’s played vanilla for almost 10 years across tons of servers

You used to get likes in p1, now you look like a disgruntled loser.

You’re ignored. Waste of energy

Your post was well written and made total sense

Your post does have some points that indicate you don’t like the core gameplay loop of Vanilla. For example, your gripes with running simulator quests aren’t just SoD, those are a mainstay of the leveling experience in Vanilla.

you are correct 20 mans killed the pug scene and if you don’t have an established guild or just enjoy playing with a small group of friends your are f’ed

Many of those quests that require running to the other side of earth are optional in Vanilla. You can skip them and not even notice the difference. The rune quests are not optional. You have to do them or else you are handicapped indefinitely.

Define optional.

Yeah the rune farming crap for EVER new char just did it for me… And you need runes or else your char is incredible gimped.

That and the fact that there is no questing and no LFD finder make the emptiness of the world feel boring and unbearable.

And I am not looking forward to hitting 25 or w/e so I can run around in a circle doing the same quest for the 500th time…

Just a total Epic fail, who ever is in charge should be held accountable.

Balth is the biggesr blizz drone on the forums. He’s some devs alt account, do not engage.

I did define it. You can skip them.

Your only valid complaint is around Waylaid Supply crates. Legitimately, those are trash. Not only are they trash, Blizz did manage to make them go from “Bad, but tolerable” to “Why do these boxes never drop? This is so stupid”.

If they didn’t tamper with the really good drop rate they had from world chests, people wouldn’t be complaining.

I would have no complaint if these were merely optional side quests instead of mandatory to class progression. Why can’t I just buy the runes from my class trainer instead?

Balth has the IQ of a potato. No one else can be having a bad time because he is enjoying it!

i only pugged on my druid and only one group failed to clear it

the difference for me, is that i never played anything past TBC. So all the runes were all new skills and spells. which is probably why SoD doesn’t feel as re-hashed as it does for others.

To be fair to blizz, they created SoD specifically to make guilds matter. if you needed help ask the guild. etc etc. I’m for that mentality, but ngl, it’s freaking annoying. Especially the healer one when you need another healer of another type like a pally to like open a portal or some nonsense.

there are good grinds and bad grinds :expressionless: SoD is bad grinds.

Yeah I don’t see how it’s even possible to play SOD without a guild. But you need multiple qualifications (including addons and raid knowledge) to get into a guild, so good luck there.

There are plenty of casual guilds to choose from.
