Naw man it’s just more when the community is smaller it’s just non tourists. Pservers were wild skill cap. You would gank a level 30 and he’ll fap lol. Pservers buffed the hell out of bosses that would make retailers and tourists quit so fast too. But it never seemed to be a problem then.
Just like how the difficulty of any hard content in retail is so far above and beyond anything classic can offer. Am I right or what, you classic Andy? See we can all play your trolling game. I did it!
But vanilla PvP blows retail away. I would even posit that any retail PvE content is far easier to master than being amazing at Era WSG on a single class.
Yes, I specifically meant pve. I don’t agree with your pvp stance either. With the talent system, a huge amount of abilities, pvp talents, gear sets, trinkets, consumables, class buffs, food etc. PvP complexity in retail is above anything found in classic era. In fact, the complex mess that retail is is why I’m finding the simplicity of classic so enjoyable.
It’s not hard, but it is harder. Even with the world buffs etc.
We’ll see how they handle endgame raids… The leveling raids a/k/a glorified dungeons were never going to be super challenging. I think they’re doing a good job so far though.
Vanilla pvp is about positioning, teamwork, and all the things you mentioned (but those are the easy part). It is easy to pickup because there is little bloat, but very few people actually come closer to mastering it.
One example to look at is kicks - in retail they put them on their on GCD so you never have to think about it, just kick when you want. In Era it is on your normal GCD, so you have to think about and plan whether your GCD will block your ability to kick something important constantly in pvp.
It can also be seen that there are no scripts carrying players in vanilla pvp - there are far too many situations to account for and complex objectives that it can’t be programmed - whereas those are a major issue in arenas giving players unfair advantages.
Well I was mostly running in premades in SoM and was horde, but yeah I had some good pugs games, especially phase 3 and 4 before it stopped popping and I couldn’t buy rocket fuel on AH anymore
At least the % of good games in which people didn’t instantly give up felt a lot higher than it does on SoD.
Retail andy’s will quit and move on, same with the tourists checking out the shiny new version. By 50 most of your scrubs will be gone and we will actually have a solid player base who understands the game left
Lmao. He’s not wrong though the private server community is usually head and shoulders above regular Classic Andy’s. Almost all the server first guilds are pserver guilds
why are people so set on wanting to make content harder? I don’t get that. Go play retail if you want a challenge. The big appeal in classic is how accessible it is to everyone
Retail is infinitely more accessible. Maybe not double top secret mythical difficulty, but experiencing it on any difficulty is way easier than classic.
With classic only having 1 difficulty: it needs to be challenging enough to keep people engaged.
Do you know why those private servers made all of those changes? It’s because the game is easy. Any “classic Andy” attempting anything in mythic difficulty in retail will get wiped to the floor.
Classic is slow and takes longer. It’s delayed gratification. That’s why everything feels more rewarding. That doesn’t equate to difficulty. You know how I know somebody has never played retail and therefore don’t know what they’re talking about? They call classic harder than retail.
