SoD is not fun for a solo player

Most the runes and end game secrets to be discovered require groups and high level gear. I play on a low population server because I do not like fighting others for tagging mobs. Because of this, its hard to find a group to help me find runes when everyone else has them already. I am also a solo player and am just trying to endure the challenge of leveling alone. I enjoy the challenge and being in a group trivializes most obstacles in this game.
Classic WoW had a lot of cool secrets you could discover on your own that don’t necessarily apply to your power level. I think that is what SoD is missing.

Classic is more MMO, there is some solo play, but majority of the game is built around playing with other players.

If you want a solo experience 100%, Classic is not the game.

I’ve started leveling a priest and it has been three days trying to find another person to get the prayer of mending rune. I’m still trying. I’m feeling some of your pain, but classic wow never really was full of single-player content, beyond questing. I’m not really sure where the comes from.

I hope you feel better, mate.

I disagree. I played a majority of 2004 Classic solo, and I enjoyed a lot of it. I couldn’t do the elite quests but there was plenty the game had to offer. I still grouped up for dungeons and raids, its just leveling that I like to do solo.

Are you complaining because you have to form groups for a short period of time sometimes?

beyond questing

You mean from a huge chunk of the game? Yeah, where did I get that idea from.

That’s because you weren’t capped at a low level. You could go off to do something else, keep getting levels, get stronger, come back etc. and at some point the math of more levels and more gear is going to overcome the yellow/orange elite mob which is now a green elite mob.

So wait til phase 2 to get my lvl 25 runes? yea that’s awful. You guys are impossible to talk to.

You’ve gotten some replies that you may not like but people have been pretty honest with you.

You stated that you don’t like “fighting” for mob tags or grouping because it “trivializes most obstacles in this game”. I get people have different ways they like to play. But Blizzard set up rune discovery and acquisition already fot P1. If the content is difficult enough that you need another/a group to complete, you may need to prioritize being available and networking with others when they are available. Otherwise you may have to wait for P2 to drop for your personal power to be enough to obtain the level 25 rune/runes.

It may be frustrating and not ideal but if you are not able to master the content alone and don’t want/are not able to group, you may be waiting for P2. I wish you good luck.

That’s not what I’m saying at all, I’m pointing out why it’s erroneous to make a 1:1 comparison to your 2004 experience.

Or are we going to pretend 2004 didn’t have epic questlines with world bosses which required a raid at level 60?

I said there is some solo play, some leveling, but everything else past that, its group play and it isn’t gonna change. You have other versions of wow if you want more solo play.

The nature of WoW/SoD, any MMO really, is that sometimes you’re gonna need to rely on other players.

Do you do dungeons at all? Probably can’t as a solo player.

I just don’t think that’s how WoW is meant to be played.

In retail you can be more successful as a solo player, because the game has shifted moreso in that direction, lots of solo-queue content.

You say you enjoy challenge, but the most challenging stuff in this game is all group content, honestly.

Retail has some challenging solo content, stuff like Mage Tower, pet battle dungeons, brawler’s guild, and so-on. Classic doesn’t have all that solo stuff.

How long have you been playing, and which class(es) do you play?

Maybe, but level cap is 25…

And for solo experiences vary depending on class to a pretty large extent. Solo leveling as a warrior vs solo leveling as a hunter, for example is quite a different experience. Mages also have a lot of solo farm content available that most other classes have, and that can be quite challenging and fun to learn.

MMO not fun for solo player.

Based take.

Honest? More like callous. Its like I summoned an army of white knights when I was just sharing my thoughts.

I am here to place my feedback on the game. I appreciate the sincerity.

Even though it may seem that way, I believe most were simply trying to be realistic and of course have their own vision, like you, of a preferred way to play. Maybe I’m wrong but I didn’t see white knighting but rather attempts to address your apparent frustration.

Blizzard, after some prodding, did change and offer a non-raid way to obtain the Metamorphosis rune as well as state that going forward that required raiding for a rune shouldn’t be the norm. I’ve absolutely no objection to your voicing your dissatisfaction. I hope Blizzard can address your concern but also hope you can find your way to get the content and challenge you desire.

Time to play retail. Or solo self found hard core.

I been on and off with this game. Played Vanilla, BC, WoD, Legion, and DF. Vanilla has still been my favorite version.
Favorite classes to play are warrior, mage, druid and monk.

I saw your reply but I can only reply once at a time.
