I think sod has the right and nice amount of extra power increases without feeling too bloated. My main worry is Blizzard adding more and more systems of power increases like retail which ends up just feeling dumb
I could talk about design theory for hours I’ll just get right to what I think blizzard should do for sods future
-
keep talent trees the same and use runes as the way of balancing classes and slightly slowly changing classes
-
blizzard announces that sod will be turning into official classic Plus. and they will say every 2 years the runes might be slightly balanced and changed and retuned to spice up the game a little just like how retail changes a little every 2 years
-
there will be no new power systems added to the game such as sockets . because think about it sockets are just an extra enchanting by another name. Also in legion when you had your artifact weapon that was basically just extra talents added by another name . Blizzard should add no new power systems to the game and just keep talents and runes and that’s it
-
the reason power systems are bad is because you reach a point where you have enough and adding more just gets feeling dumb… instead the fun of the game comes from adding more exploration content such as the zones and dungeons however for classic plus I think people are fine with blizzard taking the extra zones and dungeons they already have and you can quickly tune that for SOD

60 will stay the max level and I have thought of a way to make this happen and keep progression ingame. My idea for this is blizzard will take an expansion like say pandaria and add it to SOD and every time blizzard does this they will retune that expansion area to being a level 30 to 55 lvling zones. The mobs will cap at lvl55 which gives xp to 60 and people do dungeons when they near 60 anyway. Every two years blizzard can take an expansion and add it to sod which gives a new leveling zone to new players

then for item power progression I think I have a pretty revolutionary idea for this. Of course lets admit wow is just at its heart a gear grinding game where people play mainly for the dopamine release of increasing their gear power. Anyway I think I have a really good idea for how to have gear progression in a SOD that keeps releasing level 60 expansions. Here is how I would do it. Every time blizzard releases an expansion let’s say pandaria. They will release a new raid giving items 10 percent stronger than naxx. And the bosses will all have 10% more health and do 5% more damage than naxx or something whatever that doesn’t matter… My main idea here is my plan would be … every time blizzard releases a new sod expansion after that (like let’s say after the panda they release legion) they will take that last panda raid and they will nerf all the bosses in that raid to naxx level and then nerf all the items to naxx level … and then the new legion raid in that legion expansion will be 10% stronger than naxx and the legion leveling zone will just be level 30 to 55 again giving more spice to the new players joining… meaning that whenever blizz releases a new sod expansion the end game power level will stay the same because all the items from the previous raid will just be nerfed down to naxx level … and then the new raid released with the sod expansion will now have the stronger bosses and stronger items

so my idea means with every new expansion release all the items will be nerfed and endgame players have to regrind their power level but I think that’s okay. i think its a better system than just having the powerlevel increase nonstop and it lets new players exist in a level 60 max world where the current end game players don’t just constantly getting more stronger then there needing to be 10 raid tiers to finish before you reach current Max power players
Well I wrote a lot a few more ideas but I think that’s the most of it I guess I’ll stop there and finish more later what do you guys think… of course probably 0% chance blizzard reads or listens but I think my ideas are good
